Question about Dell InspironTM 1501 Notebook
I have changed the inverter twice. The screen bottom right corner gets very hot in a very short time. The inverter is not so hot but the screen corner actually burns my fingers. The screen is out of the laptop, so no bad contacts.
The screen is working fine, but it gets dark in the hot corner. It is a Samsung LTN141WD-L01 from a Dell Inspiron 640m.
Can I change something, inside the screen, like the backlight? or shall I try to find a new screen? Thank you for your help
I would first search the internet and Dells website to see if there is a recall on this item. If there is, they will replace for free.
Changing the inverter in screens always seems to complicate the LCD. I prefer to just purchase a new screen and everything works great. I replaced an inverter on a couple and had to change them again and again do to them slipping.
Replacing the screen is a bit more expensive but will save you time and money in the long run.
