Infocus sp5000 red led blinks once indicating lamp

be sure and reset the lamp hours. Flash the software if you can. These are also notorious for the ballast cable on the inside of the lamp housing backing out when a lamp is removed or replaced. If you have the cover off push the cables back into place and hold them there as you install the lamp. Also look directely at your lamp in the center and move it side to side and up and down. If there are any cracks or frosty looking spots or bubbles in the mirror of the lamp that are visible, then the lamp is probably shot. If all this fails, most likely it is the power supply, or the lamp door has gotten mishapen from heat and the actuator on the lamp door isn't making full contact with the safety swith.

I have an InFocus SP5000 that the DVI port isn't working on. How can this be fixed or is it worth fixing.

what's wrong with it? if you are not getting a signal, first swap cables, reset the settings to factory default, and make sure the resolution matches the source. if all else fails, send it in to an infocus service center. it may just be a plug issue or a cold solder joint. at the most, you'll have to replace the main board (which would be about $500 plus labor). try av solutions in ny. they're really good.

Hi there -- I have an infocus sp5000 project and i think the fuse has blown -- how can i replace it?

there is a fuse on the power supply, right on the power cord socket, but you need to remove the cover. but test this first: are there any leds on? if yes, it's not the fuse. check the lamp door and the filter cover on the bottom. it could also be the lamp is bad, the ballast is blown, the fans have stopped, the thermistor is blown, etc. if there are no leds, it could be that the power supply is bad. if you want to tackle this: remove the 4 bottom screws, then lift the top from the back, carefully remove the ribbon cable fron the main board (slide the cable locks on either side of the cable towards the front of the projector to unlock it first), unplug the wires in the front, and slide the lid forward over the lens. remove the main board off of the top (removing the 3 ribbon cables, all other wires, the cable nuts off of the back, and a few screws). the power supply is on the back side. if the power supply is bad, you can buy one from an infocus authorized service center (check the website).

I have an InFocus SP5000 projector that has started showing a green glow in mid-screen (center). Before I buy a $300 lamp want to know the cause of the green glow.

either the light filter behind the blue lcd panel or the fly-eye lens (both inside the optical engine) have developed a burn spot from overheating. infocus doesn't sell individual parts for the optical engine, and the whole thing must be replaced. but unfortunately, it's the most expensive part of the projector, usually upwards of $2000 (and there's none in stock).
