Sounds like a high school math problem. Use a map that has time zones on it. (HINT: the date will be different).

Advance the time by one hour

Cannot actually read minds here...

Without ANY (make, model... type???)
details as to WHAT Clock... watch
or sundial you are interested in...

My very best recommendation would be to
move ONE TIME ZONE to the WEST...

and RETURN east (home) in the FALL.

ELSE
Try going to manualslib to find your
"time" thingee and put in the
nomenclature... plus
"manual".

How do I get the compass working right

Sounds like there is a magnetic field interfering with your compass. Something close to the compass is deflecting the needle, so look for the source close to the compass location.

I just bought the Casio SGW500H-2B Mens Twin Sensor 100M Digital Sports Watch Compass Thermometer. My problem is the digital readout in compass mode reads fine but the needle/ second hand points to east...

To fix this, hold down the A button for 4 seconds. this allows you to recalibrate the home position of the second hand. My secondo hand was posting exactly 90 degrees west in compass mode, and this home position recalibration fixed it 100 percent.

What is the prime meridian of the earth

It is defined as the position( imaginary line) on the earth that runs from the north pole to the south pole and the longitude is zero degrees. The international date line is on the opposite side (180 degrees)

Just got my husband a casio pro trek sgw100-1 - we calibrated the compass but east and west are switched - north and south are fine - any ideas? thx

As a pure shot in the dark, are you sure that you calibrated it so that it was pointing to the north when it should be and not to south?

If it was pointing south instead of north, then East and West would be reversed.

Sounds a bit daft but better than the directions of east and west changing?

Check your calibration perhaps?

I have just purchased a Timex T2G581 and need to reset time and date to east Australia time. CAN YOU HELP

You can get instructions from the Timex web site "timex.com".

At the bottom of the screen click on "manuals/downloads", then on "product
manual download"

Enter your watch type in the search box and click on "search"

When you read the instructions you need to look for the part where the "city" setting. Look for the one on the same longitude as yourself (not necessarily in Australia). You may need an atlas to check the longitude of the cities available.

Compass is no longer pointing North

I had the same issue. I found that if you re-calibrate the compass the same way you did the first time, then it will act properly. I've had to do this a couple of times and it works.

Silicon radio control watch, what # is the eastern zone

It depends which way you are looking at- West or East.
5th time zone on West is for: Greenland, Canada, USA, Bahamas, Jamaica, Columbia, Peru.
On East: Russia, Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Maldives.
I just do not understand why you do need this. All radio controlled watches are receiving the signal from the place in country where watch is worn- in my case its Rugby in England.
Use your user manual to sort this out.

Compass wont work correctly

if your hands aren't straight when you use the compass try this to sync the hands.

1. Press and hold the middle button to enter T-Touch mode.
2. Press the centre area on the face twice to display 24hr/12hr
3. Press and hold the middle button to enter T-Touch mode untill screen says sync. The hands will face 1200.
4. Press either the upper (East) or lower (West) button to adjust the compass hands. They should both face 1200.
5. Press the middle button to get back to 'regular' compass mode. Note that your offset setting will still show in the digital area.
