ThemeScene HD65 projector, red thermometer light is on

My Optoma ThemeScene DLP HD65 projector has been working great for a year and a half, but now when I was about to shut it down a red light turned on with a thermometer next to it. Now it's totally unresponsive. Any ideas what's wrong? Is it safe to just pull the plug? Thanks in advance!

I simply shut the projector down (had to pull the power cable) and when starting up again it was working fine and has since then.

I have the same problem. I'll try it today when I get home. I've already bought and changed the bulb, so the only thing left for me to do is to call optoma customer service and hope they will fix it, plus, it is over 2 years since purchase.

Optoma hd65 has a red light. Only had it for 5 months. How do you fix?

The red indicator light usually comes on when something needs attention. Most often it has to do with the lamp timer or the filter timer. The projector keeps track of how long it's been since you've changed the bulb or cleaned the filter(s). You can reset these timers in the menu. Be sure to clean the filter before you reset the timer

Optoma hd65 projector new bulb wont turn on...cant reset timer!

I think it's a lamp driver issue from what I've seen others have gone through. I also read that if you go through the sequence of unplugging, plug back in, wait 20 seconds and try to turn on, multiple times, it will finally kick on and work. I just got mine to turn back on by doing this and waiting through the fan cycling without the light turning on. After the 4th sequence the light flickered. After the 7th sequence it finally turned on and is working. Now I can watch the Super Bowl and will look into replacing soon.

I have a DLP Optoma projector. It's a few years old. When my wife and I turn it on, it usually shuts down after about 20 minutes of use. what can we do to solve that?

clean it out. it may be dusty inside. the dust keeps in the heat, and if the projector can't cool down, it cuts the heat source- the lamp. also see if the lamp is close to 2000 hours. it may need replacing.

My Optoma HD65 Projector stops starts working and

Possible cause is overheating.
Do you hear the fan working?
What happens when you use the lowest level light output?
Does it run longer?

Also possible cause is a faulty temp sensor.
AC wire connection may not be firmly pressed in socket.

Optoma HD65 bulb only 108 hrs old having difficulty starting up

Use the warranty! since you anly had it for 8 weeks, and the waaranty last for one year, go back with it and get it repaired or get a new bulb. A buld last at least 2500 hours, in eco mode it last for over 3000 hours.

Good luck to you
