Cracked it! Instructions and website are useless!
What it does not tell you to do is:-
1. plug in wireless usb part and let windows install.
2. put batteries in mouse, it turns on automatically but turn it off by pressing the button underneath for 3 - 5 seconds.
3. Press the button on the wireless usb stick until the green light on the stick comes on. When you release the button it stays on for about 10 seconds. In the time that the green light is on turn on the mouse with a short press on the button underneath to register with the wireless usb stick.
4. Well it worked with mine after I figured it out - no thanks to the instructions. tried on vista ultra and xp home.

Many thanks for the guidance. Slight modification to instructions was needed to get the thing working as follows:
Steps 1 and 2 as stated
Step 3 - having tried a few things with drivers and previously pressed the button on the usb stick, I had to hold down the button on the stick to get the green light on it to stay on continuously, and switched on the mouse whilst keeping the button held down.
    Now at last it works!

Hello guys. I've just bought a Saitek m80x wireless notebook mouse and I have a problem. When I put the battery piles into the mouse, the mouse is not reacting, it's not even flashing in any colour. I have Windows 8.1 and when I put the usb into my pc the driver was installed successfuly. Any ideas?? P.S. I bought another new battery piles AAA but the mouse's state is not changed. Thanks in avance.

Are the batteries in the right way, there is a picture in the battery slot. Have you pressed the button underneath to turn it on. Some batteries have a small positive end that doesnt stick out far enough to touch the contacts and some have the negative end too recessed to get onto the contact

Does Saitek M80X wireless notebook mouse need special drivers for Acer Aspire 5742 running Win 7 64 bit?

No, the mouse is plug and play.

You have to manually pair the mouse with the dongle.

Follow this steps and retry them a few times and it will work:

  • Plug the dongle in.
  • Press the button on the dongle for two seconds so that the green light flashes on and off.
  • Press the button on the underside of the mouse once (short press).
  • Wait for the mouse to pair.
  • If it doesn't pair, press the button underneath the mouse once to continue scanning.
The whole process shouldn't take longer than 10 seconds

Hope it helps...

Where to i find an external mouse for a aspire 3680 laptop?

Hi:
Any office or computer store will sell a mouse you can use.
There are many brands to choose from, but I bought a Microsoft wireless mouse that has a small transmitter that plugs in one of my USB ports.

It works great!

Unable to use my Saitex Wireless Mouse with my Vaio Laptop

You'll probably need to update your mouse & Keyboard drivers to Win7 compatible.

It should be available for free download from the Saitek website. Follow links to Support and Downloads.

I bought a Saitek wireless notebook mouse PM45 yesterday but cannot make it work. I have tried it on 2 different computers. The lights and on and off button seem to function but the screen arrow does not...

1. Plug the wireless receiver in to one of your PC's USB ports.
2. Press the button on the receiver for two seconds so that the green light
flashes.
3. Press the button on the underside of the mouse once (short press).
4. Wait for the mouse to connect to the receiver. If the connection fails, press
the button on the underside of the mouse once more to continue scanning
(the connection will normally be made on the first press).
The whole process should take less than 10 seconds.
if the mouse refuse to connect check the battery and the power button of the mouse...and also you can try to change the USB port of the receiver ..

Saitek wireless mouse

Hi. Try these simple steps:

Check if you have a small button on the bluetooth device you connected to the USB port of your computer. If it has, then press it and you'll see a light blinking.

While the light on the USB device is blinking, press the connect button underneath the mouse and it should pair within 30 seconds.

Your best bet would be to buy a new mouse.or the mouse is not compatible with your laptop.

Wireless mouse

A wireless mouse consists of a mouse and a receiver. The receiver plugs into a USB port and should immediately work. To use the special features of the mouse such as the additional buttons you must install the driver software. Sometimes you will have to press the sync button on the receiver to communicate with the mouse. You should have a receiver that plugs into your usb or your ps/2 mouse port and then your wireless mouse connects via infrared to the receiver. Plug it in and hit the sync buttons. It's wireless so it most likely has a USB receiver, just plug that into the USB slot (it's about 1/2 an inch wide) on the back or side, and then depending on the mouse it might have a connect button or a reset. If it came with a disk you should insert that first.
