Husqvarna says the initial carburetor needle valve settings are from lightly seated 1 turn CCW for both H & L.

Your Operator's Manual can be downloaded here:

Once flooded Huskys are very hard to start. This works well on my 359.
Start Procedure
Cold:

  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close - sets fast idle) pull starter and listen for an attempt to start. once heard (usually two pulls)
  4. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  5. Push (open) choke pull starter until it starts. (usually the next pull)
Warm:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close - sets fast idle) choke, - Don’t pull with choke closed.
  4. Push (open - fast idle maintained) choke, pull starter until it starts. (usually first pull)
Hope this helps
Lou

Your needle valves may have EPA mandated adjustment limiters.

    It should read like this.

    Cold:

    3. Pull (close - sets fast idle) choke, pull starter and listen for an attempt to start. once heard (usually two pulls)

There may be needle valve adjustment limiters installed.

    Cold Start - should read

    3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws); pull starter and listen for an attempt to start. once heard (usually two pulls)

Do a complete carb rebuild. The 10% ethenol mix in our gas breaks down rubber diaphrams and needles. I think you may find your meetering needle is shot.

Chain saw will not start

sure sounds like you did it all.
Was the Plug wet with gas when you took it out to fuel it directly? I would take the plug back out, blow out or let the Cylinder totally dry. Then spray a bit of Starter fluid in the carb and see if you get life.
Old gas left in a saw is a Carburetor killer. The paper components in these carbs can not stand the new 10% ethanol gas.

Will not start

Do you have good compression.

If its flooding then its probably a carb issue. Strip and clean carb, check diaphrams and reset hi and low screws to standard settings. Screw both needles in and unscrew them:- H 3/4 of a turn anticlockwise and L 1 full turn anti clockwise.

Here's the breakdown for the carb. (dont use airlines to clean carbs)

Cannot start husq 340 have spark but no combustion even if put gas in spark plug hole. have new spark plug

The engine may be flooded--take the plug out, turn the saw upside down, and pull the starter rapidly a few times with the throttle full on. If flooded, a fuel spray will likely come out of the plug hole. Make sure the ignition is OFF when doing this--you don't need a fuel fire! Is the spark at the plug blue and snappy (plug gap set to 0.020")? Replace the plug and see if it will run. Make sure the air filter is clean. Hope this helps!

Respected Sir, I purchase a Husqvarna's chainsaw last week Model 236- 14". but I cant start it. I read manual carefully, every thing is OK. but Chainsaw can't start yet. So I request you,...

Checklist:

2-cycle oil mixed with FRESH gasoline
Spark plug wire pushed onto spark plug
Chain tight but you can still move it forward with your hand
Switch turned on
Pull the cord a few times, and then let it sit for a few minutes in case it's 'flooded' with fuel

If a new chain saw won't start, it probably has defective spark coil
Chain saws usually don't cause problems fresh out of the box, they stop working if people leave gasoline in the tank for a couple months each time.

Here's what I would do
Empty the tank of gas. Put fresh gas-n-oil into tank (not gas from an old can that was sitting there for a while)
Try starting again.
If no luck, then take it back and exchange for another.

Good luck sir.

Want start

Read the warm start procedure from the operators manual.
1. Pull choke (sets fast idle)
2. Push in choke (fast idle retained)
3. Make sure ignition is on, pull (usually once on my saw)
4. Advance throttle slightly to release fast idle.
I made the mistake ONCE of not setting the fast idle. My shoulder gets sore thinking about it. HTH

Husqvarna mod 41 chain saw wont start

If checking spark make shore the out side if plug is earthed to chain saw.
Fresh clean fuel, clean fuel filter filter pull exhaust off and check piston is ok. Than check for flooding. start there.
