Do you have background in computer hardware, you need to check the HDD, we don't know that there will be some bad sector. Check also the IDE or SATA cable, the power to HDD and the RAM. Try to first boot your HDD in the BIOS.

Wont regesterdisks

Will it read ANY kind of disks? Like music, or DVD's? If yes, then it may be your disks you are trying to play. If no, then your Disk Drive is bad and needs to be replaced.

When disk is installed the Wii Menu comes up but the disk is spinning and does not show the name of the disk in console.

What kind of disk is it? If it's a game then the disk might be damaged, meaning you'd have to get a new one.

It could also mean the disk drive in your Wii is broken. If other game disks work it should be fine, though.

If it's a DVD or a music CD, it's the same story - the disk must be damaged, or it's possible it's a format the Wii can't read, in which case there's nothing you can do.

If it's a disk you burned yourself, your Wii probably refuses to read it. Nintendo has restrictions on what kind of disks the Wii will read to prevent piracy.

I have a Zip 250 disk that will not read. When I insert the disk in the external disk drive, it will spin and stop a few times and that's it. When I try to access the disk/drive letter via "My Computer",...

If the disk is unreadable this means that the format or the files extensions on it are not readable in the operation system you use..either are damaged or the disk itself is damaged or it wasn't finalized like it should ...If other disks inserted run ok than the disk it is damaged and it is nothing wrong with the drive itself..When it says to insert a disk this means that it is not seeing the disk at all and it sounds like a drive problem ..but if other disks are ok ..than it is just a damaged disk or in a format unreadable ..beware if it a cd unit ..will not read dvd-es..or if it a dvd kind will not read large dvd-es (dual layer) or blue-ray disks..

My xbox won't read disk, nothing is wrong with the disks.

The reason that this happens is because the sensors on the back of the DVD drive have overheated.

When you overheat the Xbox it realligns the motherboard and the soldering gets supple again and will work for a little while, however this will not be permanent.

You will need to send it in to get it fixed or you can fix it yourself using a proven Xbox 360 Repair guide

My dvd drive on my laptop will not read all disks

check your drive spesc - it can't not compatible with some disks, there are many formats: DVD-R, DRD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW.
some disk recoder applications can leave open sessions and it makes disk readable only on the same drive where it was burnt

DISK DRIVE

This would generally happen if the lens is dirty. You get special lens cleaning disks, however, you must read the user's manual before using any such disk. Some brands don't recommend the use of lens cleaning disks.
