Setup is unable to detect card however windows

You aren't very descriptive. Either way. I'm assuming when you say Setup, you are referring to the driver installation setup. Delete/uninstall the driver. Unplug the adapter. Now, start the setup. When the installation goes along, eventually it'll ask for you to insert the card, thats when you insert it. It should then work, if you finish the setup. If thats not the issue. Heres a possibility. You are running windows Vista, or running Windows Vista 64 bit, or maybe XP 64 bit. Either way, you are likely using a 32 bit driver, on a 64 bit machine. Or vise versa. If not then you could be using a vista driver on an XP machine and the XP machine doesn't know what to do with it. I suggest going to dlinks website. There are 3 versions of this wireless card, and that also could be the issue. The first one they released is here http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp?productid=DWL-G630 and that only has drivers for XP and 2000. http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp?productid=DWL-G630_revB rev B. Also only XP and 2000. http://support.dlink.com/products/view.asp?productid=DWL-G630_revC rev C. also again XP and 2000 BUT includes a Vista 32 bit driver. I hope i helped. Not bad for free...

D-Link Air DWL 650 connecting to my Dlink router

You need to go into the wireless driver advanced properties and set the SSID, WEP Key, channel and others. Wherever there is an 'auto' option, choose it.

I never got the dlink utility to work. I let windows manage it and change the device settings in advanced props.

Keep loosing my wirless connection

Router setup page for a DLINK should be 192.168.0.1 Right click on the D and click on show available wireless networks. There maybe more than showing. If a neighbor has one or if you have another pc it might be trying to use rhe network card from that oc. Make sure that you click on DLINK for wireless connection. You just may see some other connections and find out that it's trying to use another connection.

Hi Atta,
The memory dump is not actually a error. It is the system making a log of the what is in the memory, at the time of a crash. The actual error was caused by something else. That DLink series of wireless adapter card, and thier drivers, seem to be very problematic. I found a lot of complaints, like this one, about them.

Any driver or device consistantly using 90% of your CPU is a bad investment. I am not a Dlink hater, since I use two Dlink routers.

You can go here, and get the most recent drivers for that adaper, and see if they help.

If the situation continues, and Dlink doesn't put out a fix, you might want to switch to a different brand. One other "fix" I have seen work on several problematic devices like this, is to disable the Dlink Wireless software, just keep the drivers, and use the Windows Wifi interface to control the wireless.

Good luck.

Hi Sabka, You didn?t mention which revision adaptor you had or what operating system you needed drivers for but Rev A supports Windows XP, ME, 2000 and 98; Rev B supports Win XP, 2000 and 98. Click on the link below and select the rev A or B link then download your driver(s). http://support.dlink.com/products/revision.asp Let us know how it goes and please don?t forget to rate the posting.

Using G630 but get "network cable unplugged" message

A little confusing this, it would not say 'Network cable unplugged' if windows was refering to your D-link wireless connection(It's wireless) The cable unplugged should be refering to your Wired Ethernet card, so there must be no cable connected at one or other end. You don't mention anything about what the wireless card is trying to connect to(eg Wireless modem/router or another wireless PC). Maybe your pc is getting confused as to whether you wish to connect wirelessly or wired, as it can only work through one IP Address at a time. i could be wrong, but you probably thought that they were working but only one was, you really need to explain why you are using both wired and wireless and what is connected to what, Please reply and hopefully it'll get sorted
