You will need to take the guard off their are 2 drive chain once you do that you will see the adjustments. if you adjusted your bike when you were youg then this is the same

The peddle should be a left hand thread that will need to be turned clockwise to remove,the allen bolt holds the pedal in place and acts like a lock to keep the pedal from rotating off.
