SOURCE: My EC12 builds up pressure, but then releases all but about 10 psi.

The non-return valve is sticking and it's an easy fix. First, for safety, unplug the electric power to the unit and release any pressure in the tanks. Then unscrew the cap of the non-return valve (between the compressor and the tanks). Inside you should find a tapered rubber plug which is probably sticking in the valve housing. Sand down the diameter of the large end of the plug, being careful not to damage the flat face at the narrow end (which is the sealing surface). For sanding try 400 or 600 grade wet-or-dry paper and sand until the plug just moves freely in the housing. Reassemble and the compressor should work. Incidentally it's an oil-type unit, and quite durable. Make sure it has enough oil.

SOURCE: Craftsman 25 gallon compressor wont cut off

The pressure switch has snap action contacts that are opened by a diaphragm pushing against a spring mechanism. Unplug the compressor and remove the cover to the switch and look for the contacts. Make sure that they are not welded together from use. Move the on/off lever to see if they open and close. You may have welded contacts or broken mechanism within switch. A factory replacement is expensive, however if you are a tinker-er you can use a lower price generic pressure switch available on ebay. Switches are sold by pressure range, you need a 120#. Fittings may need tweaking. Enjoy

What does a oil pressure relief valve do

For any engine with an oil pump, the components inside it are designed and engineered to operate at a certain range of oil pressures.
For example, an automobile engine might be designed to operate at # 30 to # 70 pounds of pressure.
If you subjected the bearings to double the pressure, you could achieve bearing failure, as you could with not enough pressure.
The oil pressure relief valve will "open" when the upper limit of pressure is reached and allow the extra pressure and oil to go straight back to the crankcase.

I have a kubota f3060 and the rear seal keeps blowing. I put in a new seal and it blow to. Where is the vent to check it it see if it is clogged?

The crankcase vent should be on the rocker cover. It sounds like the oil pump relief valve is stuck closed. Install a mechanical oil pressure gauge in place of the sending unit. The oil pressure should be 50 psi or less.

856 farmall replaced mcv valve and pump. Everything works. But once up to operating temperature hydraulic warning light comes on. While driving if I press firmly on brakes the light goes out. What is...

not worked on a tractor before but principle must be the same as car,are the brake components in good condition as a worn brake lining/faulty brake servo could cause the hydralic fluid resevoir to suffer a back pressure that would make sensor light go off so i'd check the brake system and go from there

I have powerful hydraulic action with my end

The relief valve may be by-passing, or your pump is cavitating..If you can hear a hissing... its the relief...if you hear whining or chuttering sounds... it is the pump cavitating. It sounds much like a power steering pump. Check your fluid level. **Note There may be water in the system if the oil is really milky looking, also from the cavitation of the pump which causes air in system. And then....Go from there or ask more.
