If the dryer is on timed dry it will always time down even if you have a heat problem so the only thing that it could be is the timer. You can go to searspartsdirect.com with your model number and pull up the part number and price on the timer.

Igniter Works, but Gas won't fire up on Sensor Dry, Will on Timed Dry

PLEASE do not use this dryer until it is fixed. it may be a saftey hazard. From the sounds of it. Your ignitor is only getting a signal every now and then. Now either is a coupler in there to tell the ignitor when to fire and when not to fire. It seems that it is going out only alloweing the dryer's ignition to come on only when a new cycle is started. That is where i would start... check with an appliance repair shop and find out if it will be something you can do your self or if it is something they have to do....
Now I do STRONGLEY recomend that you have a service technicion come on and service your dryer do to the fact that it is a GAS dryer. if something inside the dryer where to get pinched or broken it could cause a bigger problem....
so please take this advisment under consideration....
Thank you.

My Kenmore 400 series dryer has stop blowing hot air to dry my clothes. It blows room temperature air therefore, my clothes don't dry in a timely manner. How do I fix this problem? Thanks,

Hi Most ahve the same problem, maybe the dryer vent is plugged up , pull unit out and unplug it , remove vent and clean , then with a tester check over heat sensors at rear of dryer , they knid of look like diodes with two wires going to them , you could also by pass them with a jumper wire , BUT JUST TO TEST THEM ONLY ! it could also be th eelement , but most times it is a sensor form over heating unit , both are very cheep to fix,

Amana model LGA30AW automatic setting doesn't shut the dryer off

You can make adjustments to your Automatic Cycles by adjusting the Factory Dryness Level:
Changing the Automatic Cycle settings to increase or decrease drying time:
If all your loads on all Automatic Cycles are consistently less dry or more dry than you would like, you may change the default settings to increase or decrease the default dryness
level.

Your automatic drying settings can be adjusted to adapt to different installations, environmental conditions, or personal preference. This change is retained and will affect all of your
Automatic Cycles, not just the current cycle/load. There are 5 drying settings, which are displayed using the time display:
0 Much wetter clothes, 30% less drying time.
1 Slightly wetter clothes, 15% less drying time.
2 Factory preset dryness level.
3 Slightly drier clothes, 15% more drying time.
4 Much drier clothes, 30% more drying time.
TO CHANGE THE DRYING SETTINGS: NOTE: The settings cannot be changed while the dryer is running or paused. The dryer must be in standby mode (power is off) to adjust the default settings.
  1. Before starting a cycle, touch and hold DRYNESS for 6 seconds.
  2. Touch DRYNESS to select the dryness level shown in the time display: 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4.
  3. Touch START/PAUSE to save the new dryness level setting.
