Question about Televison & Video
Firstly, unless you have an understanding of electronics, have the tools and are insured against severe electrical shock. let some one else do it.
First try unplugging the unit from the power for 2 hours. replug and check it. If it does not function, then suspect some faults on the sustain boards inside the set and on right rear of the screen. Be cautious if you are tempted to look for yourself as this is a radiation risk also.
The board has a group of capacitors that should show some burn marks, It is better to replace the whole board rather than unsolder and re-solder these parts. But if you skills in this region are not superfine you can end up doing more damage than you need.
The set will possibly need retuning on convergence area as well which is on the other board.
But overall my advice is get a professional, there are 2000 Tv's like this currently on FIXYA with the same problem. some have chosen to fix it themselves and are back again with the same or greater problems. The faults are often by no means limited to these components but are in tandem with others that should harmonize with voltages and resistive outputs. It is not a simple DIY like most think, otherwise why bother to train TV technicians?

Thanks for using FixYa. If there is sound when you turn the TV on but no video or picture then you’ll need to test the Horizontal out Transistor (HOT) and Fly back Transformer (FBT), you’ll need a multi meter to check these. Also check the connections on the lamp from the power supply board and check for the voltage on these connections. If you have the expertise or basic knowledge of electronics, then you can do it yourself.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
