HP built-in wireless internet light cannot be

All of a sudden, my HP notebook can not find the usual wireless network. I installed a new internet wireless router. It did not help. The HP notebook failed to detect any wireless network. I notice that the HP built-in wireless internet light on my HP notebook does not show the blue light indicating that it is turnedon even the button is set to on. Is the built-in wireless adapter shot?

Thanks in advance for your thoghts/advices

Windows WiFi Fix,

Windows Zero Wireless Configuration is one of the best programs to run a WiFi in Windows XP or Vista. Most of the other software packages that come with the different adapters have been poor at best in keeping a connection through Windows. Here is the best guide to get you back up and connected.

Windows XP:

Click Start
Right click on My Computer
When a window pops up click on properties
Click on the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Windows Vista:

Click Start Logo
Right Click Computer
Click Device Manager
Windows will ask you about opening Device Manager Click Continue
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do you connect to the internet with the compaqnx9005? Do I have to buy a network card? Paul

Any "modern" notebook computer will have both an Ethernet adapter and a wireless adapter built-in, especially one labelled as a "business" model.

Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Classic View
Click System
Click Hardware
Click Device Manager
Click the '+' in front of Network Adapters
to show the installed adapters.

Take an Ethernet cable, and connect one end to the Ethernet slot in your computer, and the other end to a cable-modem or a DSL-modem, and you'll have an Internet connection, through the Internet Service Provider of your choice (Comcast, Roadrunner, Verizon, et cetera).

Or, connect "wirelessly" at the local Starbucks.

My built in wifi HP Wireless Assistant is not available. Ineed to install it again. It is a wireless network adoptor to connect internet via wifi

Boss You need to install suitable wireless network adopter so as to support your wifi in the laptop. generally the most common Network adopter used in Hp laptops is Atheros AR 5006X.. so go the device manager of the lapltop and check it out whether the drivers are working fine or not.. so install New drivers if required.. which you can easily find in internet.. some of the common website are..brothersoft.com..etc Hope that helps you.. Compaq evo n800 laptop built-in wireless internet

right click "my computer", left click properties, select "Device Manager" Expand anything to do with "Network Adapters" and make sure there are no problems / exclamation marks / unknown devices.
If there are, look for your wireless driver on..
http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=uk&cc=uk&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=compaq+evo+n800&submit=Go+%C2%BB
depending on your model. if this doesn't work go to www.hp.co.uk and download the driver then install it.
If you can't detect any wireless networks, make sure your wireless card is activated - I believe this involves holding down FN (bottom left of keyboard) while then pressing F2 key at top. after this try try to search for wirless access points points.

Good Luck,

Cheers,

Colin

you might want to check the device manager in the system under control panel. Check if the wireless network card is installed. If it is then simply try restarting your computer, if not try to do some sort of system restore. cheers!
