Ok so 1 of my kidos has the RCA 20F420T tv, and i guess there is no headphone jack hole, so i went and bought adapter that plugs into the av jacks, still doesnt work can you please help!!!

Without knowing the specifics on this adapter - I can provide only provide some clues as to how this works.

Basically, the A/V jacks on a TV has a "fixed" audio output level - this means that the sound levels on the A/V jacks is NOT controlled by the volume control of the TV itself. You should be able to set the TV volume to minimum and then use the adapter's volume control to make the earphone / headphone sound louder and softer. Your TV however, may have a setting in the menu that can change the audio from "fixed" to "variable". If set to "variable", when turning the volume down for the TV's built in speakers will also turn the volume down on the A/V jacks as well. You do not want this to work like that as the sound in the headphones and the TV speakers will be same - instead of the TV speakers being off and the headphones on.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply. Thanks!

Suddenly my yamaha Rx-v2300 only works to provide sound at nearly full volume to get any sound at all. This then comes with a background buzz. This only occurs while getting cable TV signal, using other...

I'm assuming you have a cable converter box (set-top box) that you have hooked to your receiver. Check the box volume using the cable company's remote control. These boxes frequently have variable audio output, and if you turn the volume down on the box you'll have the symptom you're describing. When you press the volume up or down buttons on the remote, you'll usually see a volume bar on the TV screen. As you raise the volume, there may be a point marked by an arrow, which is where you should set the volume. On some boxes, when you get to a certain level the words "best stereo" appear, and that's where to set it. If your box doesn't have some indication like this just leave the volume set 3/4 or full up. Then the volume on the receiver should function properly with the cable TV input.

I have no sound from the speakers on my KV-27FS120....Please help?!

Take a look at the back of the set. Some Sony models have a speaker on/off switch, and they can get bumped if anybody's been behind the set (cleaning or such, and sometimes a pet can get back there and bump the switch). Also, check that the TV hasn't has the SAP (second audio channel) turned on. On many Sony remotes there is a single button to select that mode, and if there isn't a SAP channel being broadcast, on many models you get no sound at all.

If you're using a satellite receiver or cable or FIOS set-top box, make sure the volume is up on that device. They often have volume control separate from the TV, and you may have turned the source volume down.

You didn't give any information about what you have connected and whether the sound trouble is on all sources, so I can't tell you too much more. Make sure all your cables are properly connected (they sometimes work loose) and all audio sources are working properly. If the sound still is missing after you've checked what I suggest, you should to have the TV checked by a service technician. There are many possible electronic causes for the sound to quit, but nothing you'll be able to track down and repair without the proper tools, information and experience.

Good luck, and thanks for using Fixya!

Hi,
It sounds either volume down button is bad that turns volume down on its own or system control chip got defective and decreasing volume level.
Press volume down button on tv front and check is it working properly.
Let me know to find out further info to solve the issue.
Thanks.

Samsung TV - have sound/auto volume set to on. When TV is turned off and then on, tv volume is extremely low. Go back to sound menu, it shows "on" but if you go back and act like you are turning in on, the...

Hello Blindrid,
What I would suggest you do is Press your MENU button on the tv remote, Then down to SOUND and then Turn the AUTO VOLUME to OFF. Then come out of the menu screen.
Just to check that it has all work correctly. turn you volume upto a certain number for example 25
Then turn your TV off the turn it back on. Wait until it is displaying a picture then press the volume button Once either up or down and you should see that it will go to 24 or 26 depending on what button you pressed for the volume. This will keep your volume set to whatever you had it on before you turned the tv off.

Hope this Helps Please leave a thumbs up.

Cheers

Volume won't turn down

Try the setup program. When you get to the main setup screen, look for a reset all to standard setting. That may solve the problem. If it doesn't then the sound module may need to be replaced inside the TV.

Samsung LCD Flat Screen TV LN-S2651D - Volume Problem

I lived with it for about six weeks, then took the back off the TV. Just now it seems to be fixed, but I don't know if it will last.

I disconnected the wire leading to the channel up/down, volume up/down and source board, turned on the tv, turned it back off, reconnected the cable, and everything seems fine now.

How do you mute tv but not headphones?

Look in your TV's menu options. I have an RCA TV which allows me to turn on (or off) the headphone port and set the volume of the headphones. Once you turn the headphone volume up, then you can turn the TV Volume all the way down with your TV remote while the headphone volume remains where you set it. Hope this works for you.
