I had to redo the original programming on my Sony VAIO. When I tried to reinstall my printer the computer refused to recognize it. I suspect that the installition CD is the wrong one. Where can I get the appropriate CD?

Do you have that icon on your desktop canon mp navigator. Usually by opening that up and clicking scan everything runs properly. One idea maybe not the best is to uninstall and reinstall the printer software. Another is to try scanning (if your model can) from both the printer and the computer by using canons software on the computer.
check first if printer work fine, you can test print it manually, then check if computer communicate with the printer by allowing to remove driver and insert usb cable it must be popup that found new hardware occurred for its detecting printer. reinstall back driver, restart and send print test.
I have this Canon MP600 using unchipped cartridges. Once you have changed the chip over onto the catridge and inseted it should stop flashing which indicates the cartridge is located. The printer will not tell you the level of ink until you run out. When changing the chip over from original cartridge onto unchipped ensure it is not damaged and fitting properly other wise the error sign will show. The printer should print without any problems, i know you can not disable the ink monitoring system. Hope this is some help Mr T
If you have the original CD/DVD that came with it:
- Open the Control Panel
- Open the Printer and Fax folder
- Delete any occurrance of the MP600 there
- With the printer on, reboot the PC and let Windows 'find a new device.'
It should bring up a dialogue box that offers to install a driver or give you the option to get one from a disk.
If it does that, insert the disk in your optical drive and Win should be able to find the Canon software and reinstall it.
I use italics because Windows often DOESN'T do what it should.
i would say maybe first step os to unistall all canon mp600r software
includin scanning programs and reinstall them and see if it then works.
this might cure your fault but make sure you do it from the setupdisc
not the canon website.
