Gateway NV57H77u cannot change CPU

I could not find any detailed instructions for your laptop. My only tip is to keep track of where you are taking screws from as they will be different sizes and lengths.

Take your time and remove all the screws and if a part will not open, there may be a hidden screw.

Also, upgrading laptop CPUs is not a common practice. If you have never done this, I would not recommend it.

Without seeing this laptop, the general game plan on laptop disassembly is to remove the power cord and battery. Remove all the screws that are visible. If you cannot slide the case off, or it does not hinge itself open, then there might be screws beneath rubber feet on the bottom. A small flat blade screwdriver would be ideal for finding the screw-hole beneath these.
In the most extreme cases, like a Chromebook, the laptop will require a plastic spudger to slip between the two case halves and separate them at incremental gaps. I doubt yours will require this much work.
Anyway, keep up with all the screws, and if they are different sizes, not where they came from. Be careful, and gently clean everything while it is apart with some canned air.

How can I open the case of gateway solo 2150? I

There is some information on FixYa for this already which can be found at the post below. Generally with a laptop, you'll have some hidden screws under a bezel on the top of the keyboard area. You gently pop this off with a small screwdriver and underneath will be the screws that hold the keyboard in. After removing these, you generally can disassemble the rest of the laptop.

I searched gateway's website but they're pretty tight lipped about their service guides. I did find this link to some pdf files, even though it's not your exact model, you might find some useful info there. Hope this helps and good luck. If I 'fixed ya' please rate me.Thanks.-jmattes ( just copy and paste the link into your browser) http://tim.id.au/laptops/gateway/
