HI. You will need to check the wiring that links the door latch assembly to the actual control board. The main board controls the actions of the door latch mechanism during cleaning sessions and long bake periods on certain models. If this malfunction occurred after a self cleaning session, the temp sensor may have failed, causing the oven temp to reach far beyond the rated threshold, in return, welding the relay contacts together. This will suspend the door latch mech and prevent the control from initiating the UN-lock signal.

If you are sure that this didn't occur after a self cleaning session, i would suggest to unplug the unit for 5 minutes. after the five minutes are up, simply plug the unit in the appropriate socket once more, and power up. If you experience the same issue as before, this will confirm that the door lock latch mechanism has failed. it should be replaced in this case.

NOTE(If an over temp situation has occurred during a cleaning session, and the door would not unlock after the session, this will require you to replace the control board, lock mech and wiring harness contacts as well).

HI

Thanks for using FixYa. The lock indicator light must be in off position. This can take more than one hour. After the lock indicator light goes out, move the door lock lever to the left. The oven door can now be opened. Turn the selector and temperature knobs from clean to off after the door is unlocked. If the temperature knob is turned to off before the door is unlocked, the door will not open. Forcing the lock will damage the lock mechanism. If this is the case, then return the temperature knob back to clean, unlock the door and turn the temperature knob in off position. If still you are not able to open the lock then it means that the lock motor might have failed. Use an insulated wire bending into the hook and slide from the right side and move the door to the right. It can also allow you to release the lock and open the door.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Hi jmhostetler9,

This F3 that keeps flashing on your oven is caused by a shorted or open oven temperature sensor (RTD). To fix this problem check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.You may contact Sears for the replacement part at 1-800-252-1698; M-F 6:30 AM-10:30 PM - Sat 7:00 AM-9:30 PM - Sun 7:30 AM-9:30 PM - All times Central. Hope this helps.

Am negotiating a home inspection on a house with WW30430P Jenn Air Wall Ovens; neither of the doors close. Is there a solution?

There are several models of Jenn-Air ovens that had issues with the door closing. The only solution is to replace the door hinges (unless the doors themselves are bad, you can see this if you open the door, the porcelain on the door will be bulged and cracked right where the hinge joins the door). If the doors are bad, the hinges and the interior door panels need to be replaced. Hope this helps!

My oven Door fell off. it is a Jenn-Air JJW9530C

This is a known issue. The model number is JJW9530C. I have been browsing the internet trying to find stronger hinges but with no luck. It seems there are a lot of unhappy Jenn air owners. You are correct in your assumption that the door is to heavy for the hinges. I will post the websites for your review

Maybe if I could see the hinge I could fabricate a stronger stainless steel one for you

Jenn-Air stove locked

After the lock indicator light goes out, move the door lock lever to the left. The oven door can now be opened. Turn the selector and temperature knobs from clean to off AFTER THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED. If the temperature knob is turned to off BEFORE the door is unlocked, the door will not open. Forcing the lock will damage the lock mechanism. If this should happen, return the temperature knob back to CLEAN, unlock the door, THEN turn the temperature knob off. Jenn air oven stuck closed after attempt to activate self-cleaning

The lock motor may have failed. Most often, bending a coat hanger into a hook and sliding from the right side as you move the door to the right, will allow you to release the lock and open the door.

Oven door won't unlock

I posted a message on 12/27 and since then I have contacted Jenn-Air again and as I mentioned above the two things they told me to do didn't work, so I looked at the schematic of the unit and there appears to be a motor that locks and unlocks the door. I have a service repair coming this Saturday and seems to believe the motor is bad. Trenatru are you getting an error message? I was told by Jenn-Air that there is a 6 yr. warranty on electrical parts so will try to keep you posted if that is the cause. If you havn't tried shutting off the power try that first. They said keep it off for a couple minutes before turning back on. If that try pushing on the door and hitting cancel twice. If those two things don't work, will let you know what I find out next weekend.
