My computer starts to load windows, then loses all power,

Sometimes i turn on my computer and it loads windows fine then after a minute or two the computer just shuts down. Then when i go to start it again it will get to the windows loading bar but then shut down again.

Any ideas on what's going on?

It stays on in BIOS. But once i go into Windows it shuts off in a minute or two. My fan is working fine and the power sources seem to be good.

    Any ideas besides reloading Windows?

Stays on in BIOS then shuts down in Windows. Fan and power supplies seem to be working fine. Not sure where to go from here.

Put the Windows back-up disc in and seems to be working.

If you are getting no error messages, I think perhaps you are experiencing a heat problem.
Check to see if the fan is running (you should hear it and feel the warm air coming from the vents). Use canned air to blow out the dust that may have accumulated in the case and that might help.
If you are seeing some kind of error message, let us know what it is.

Have you tried starting in safe mode and doing a system restore?

Does the same thing happen when you try to load the BIOS. (press keep pressing F2 when you turn on the computer). If it happens while the computer is in the BIOS window then its your power supply that is fried.

It does sound like the power supply is fried though. In which case the laptop will need to be taken in for service.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Would you be able to get the Windows loading bar before it goes to a dark screen if yes we could reinstall the Windows wherein you would lose information on your computer and to do the reinstallation all that you would need to do is start tapping on Alt+F10 as soon as you turn on your computer untill we find Windows loading files on the screen and then you would get the Acer recovery management Windows from where you need to select completely restore system to factory defaults and then keep following the instructions on the screen clicking on a few next ok or yes buttons and it would complete the process in 30-45 minutes time;if you are unable to get the Windows loading bar or the Acer logo then you would haveto conatc technical support and set up a repair for a video card issue.

M9700 starts up but shuts down few minutes after vista loads

Sounds like it is a problem with the m9700 overheating. I have just repaired an m9700 with this exact issue and it was resolved by taking the CPU heatblock off, removing the dried/caked-on heat compound, and replacing it with my own (Arctic Silver 5).
Was 91c before, now down to 74c max on load (Measured with coretemp). Random crashing has stopped.

There could be a couple of possibilities. But the most likely one I can think of is a fault in the atx connector(The broad 20 pin connector) either on the power supply or the Motherboard

At most Electronics or computer specialty stores you should be able to get a Power supple tester for about $20 USD.

You can connect that to you Power Supply Unit(PSU) and that should be able to tell you whether your fault is in the PSU or the Motherboard

Hope this helps

My gateway computer want start it say's every time i try to start it, bootmgr. put alt.ctrl.and del.

It sounds like from how you put your description that your windows operating system is not properly installed or is full of malware (which is typical with Windows Operating systems), I would recommend you perform a System Recovery (which will restore back to Windows when you first bought the computer, and yes you willl lose your luxury items like pictures, documents, etc but you will keep Windows and it should run just fine after the system recovery) If you want to please follow these steps:
Make sure that your PC is fully shut down, turn back on the PC and tap either F11 or F10 until it loads System Recovery then make sure you do system recovery then it will take about 25-35 minutes then you will be fine your computer will run fine. If not I will be more happy to assist with further troubleshooting steps but I am pretty sure this will fix the problem. Thanks!

Problem with Toshiba Laptop U

this is clearly a no boot issue. you can actually do a power cycle first. remove the battery and unplug the ac adapter. press and hold the power button on the computer for 10 secs to drain all power inside the computer. turn on the computer. if it still freezes, tried to boot to safe mode. as soon as you see the Toshiba logo on the screen, start tapping on the F8 button as quick as you can to access Windows Advanced Boot Options. then choose safe mode only. if it doesn't solve the problem then most likely, your Windows XP is already corrupted. try to do system recovery. please be reminded that you will lose all data if you run the recovery.

i hope this helps.

Keep losing internet connection

Recommendation: If you can switch from the 3rd party wireless utility to the Windows utility. There should be a check box under the properties that says, "Let Windows manage my connection." Also turn off any power management that stops your drives, suspends the machine, etc. When doing WEP, use the actual key, not your password. i.e. the one that looks like "aaff996753bc" not "rosebud".

Reason: Windows wireless starts before you even log in and loads as a service, it runs whether your logged in or not, sleep mode, etc. 3rd party utilities...especially my personal bane of all wireless devices "Netgear" load as applications. That means they don't initialize until after log in and they can be suspended completely or prioritized by power management and resource management utilities when the machine is idle. As for the key thing... WEP translation with Linksys especially can be a little funny with some wireless so I use the key itself which always works.

Computer will not load.

use safe mode..do a disc clean, defrag..and then reboot...sounds like the operating system headers went unhappy when you moved it(which I highly recommend you NOT do again)..
