Unable to get system manager-Autoloader to ID the media discs. Doesn't show any option for media type. Only sees 120mm standard.

If the autoloader is in ready state, reboot the PC. Check if system manager displays the autoloader drives and printer. Check the firewire cable. It's easy to plug it in backwards. The firewire card can get damaged if it was plugged in backwards.

I cant get it to go online..it had to be reformatted and its now got windows 7 extreme on it,but it cant fund find the driver to go online

try draining the remaining power inside your computer by pulling the plug or battery while it is on. then try to reboot. If it does not work then uninstall the cd rom by going to the start>control panel>system>hardware tab>device manager then uninstall the cd rom drives and then reboot the computer. The windows should automatically install the correct driver for it.

I have an acer aspire 3680 laptop. It's been my teenage daughters computer to go online for home school. I recently wanted to delete everything back to factory (since they downloaded songs, games, etc..)....

Do you have the recovery disk when you buy the unit? if so, you dont need to burn the cd... insert the recovery cd then reboot from the cd... follow the steps...

If you dont have the recovery then you cant make a recovery cd.. Format Your Laptop with a new version of windows...

this will help...

I have an Acer Aspire x1700 and it will not reboot, I cannot locate the reboot disk. How can you help?

Yuo need a lot of try and error to be successful.
First your OS and the BOOT disk that comes with your machine. But if you dont had the CD you need to buy and download it.
Store like Bestbuy,CompUSA,etc.. sell this CD,s or go to this LINK where you can buy it online and download it, choose your OS and any other specs about your System.
After all you need to BURN the files in a blank CD or order for mail shipment.

Then we going to BOOT the system id the CD drive.

To rebuild your hard drive, do the following:
  1. Power up your Acer system.
  2. When prompted (after memory testing completes), press CTRL + ALT + ESC to enter CMOS setup.
  3. At the CMOS Setup screen select Advanced BIOS Features
  4. Verify the Boot Options Sequence is set to the following order:
    1st [CD-ROM]
    2nd [Floppy Disk]
    3rd [Hard Disk]
  5. Insert the Acer System CD, DISK 1 in your CD-ROM drive.
  6. Press F10 to exit and save. When prompted, Do you want to save CMOS data?, select [Yes], then press ENTER.
  7. The system will reboot from the CD-ROM. After booting from the CD-ROM, you will see the Acer Hard Drive Rebuild options displayed.

Note: Use your mouse for choice selections during the HDD recovery process. The mouse will respond slowly during this procedure, DO NOT press the Enter key. Pressing the Enter key will cause the HDD recovery process to terminate.
  8. Select HDD Full Rebuild and follow the on-screen instructions.
  9. When prompted to insert Acer Recovery CD, DISK 2, wait for the CD-ROM to eject DISK 1.
  10. Close the CD-ROM tray and click OK. The system will continue to rebuild the hard drive back to factory load.
After being prompted to remove disk and restart system the unit will load system software and hardware. During this process the system will reboot several times.
Your Microsoft Certificate of Authenticity (COA) ID number will automatically be entered for you. Should you need this number for any reason, look for your Microsoft Certificate of Authenticity (COA) ID number on the cover of your system.

Starting whole system over

Use another PC (or a friend's PC) to download a program called "Malware Bytes" (Google it). Transfer the program to the infected PC by way of a USB drive or CDR and run the scan and clean program. Hopefully this will allow you to access the web afterwards so you can update Malware Bytes to the latest version and do a more thorough scan. Should you need to reinstall Windows you are going to need a OS CD which matches your system's OS (XP Home, XP Pro, etc.) before you will be able to perform the reinstall. You may want to contact the manufacturer to order a recovery disc for your specific machine.

I want to reboot my Toshiba A200 back to factory settings, i have a spyware down load **** that keeps on asking me to install.....how do i reboot

If you have the recovery CD, then put that in the drive, reboot the laptop and make sure you boot to the CD. The recovery process will start up and you can restore the laptop to it's factory settings. Make sure you have all of your documents, music, etc. backed up.

HP PAVILION a305w

try getting into the bios and setting it to boot normally, turn off fast booting if its an option thats on, also, set your CD drive as the first boot devioce, then hard drive. Save and reboot, have CD in drive and just start hitting the F10 key as soon as it starts up, usually you hear a Beep when it detects that you are hitting the key for the boot options. HP pavilions where made to start and skip through the Post Process quickly to limit waitnig time, of course this sux when you want to boot from a cd.

You could try remove ing the BIOS Battery off the board and unplugging the system, wait a minute for it to discharge and put it back in, power it up and see if it lets you boot from CD.

Your bassically resetting the BIOS to factory defaults.

Also, i dont recomend buying HP Pavilions. i wokred on three seperate ones that a customer thought was a New machine ( this was back in 2001 ) but all the parts where 1995 parts, which means wghen they tried to upgrade to windows XP, XP doesnt have any generic drivers for hardware that old so nothing worked and yuo cant find any driver online that are that old.

Good luck anyway.
