You need to check the picture set up properly. Is it in Shop Display mode?
Is the picture poor on all inputs, ie if you play a DVD or other external input?
More info required.

Red error light will not turn off

  • Needs to be calibrated.
  • See directions.
  • Not very straightforward.
I saw a very dark image in the file that actually saved black. So I recalibrated aiming at a light bulb. Very fuzzy but operational.

Then I did it again on a plain white sheet of paper. Not too good but still better. Now I need a sheet of glaring white.

My 1st mistake was to work on the scanner on a black desktop. I poked the buttons around and calibrated it black!

Hi,

Below are some troubleshooting tips for a TV that has a fuzzy or blurry picture;

If your Plasma or LCD TV picture is blurry or fuzzy there are several things that may be causing the problem. It's worth running through the following list before seeking service. You may find yourself saving the full cost of a TV repair.

Make sure you are using the appropriate cable box for your TV. If you have a high-definition TV you should also be using a high-def channel box from your cable provider. Watching standard definition channels on a high-def TV can make the picture look distorted and fuzzy.

Not all cable channels are broadcast in high-definition. When you stretch a standard definition picture to fill the full frame of your wide-screen TV it may look distorted. You can try changing your TV display settings to show standard-def channels at their native resolution. This will create black or gray bands on either side of your picture.

Ideally all of your video components will be connected to your TV with HDMI cables. Your next best option will be component video cables. If your cable box does not have HDMI capabilities, contact your cable company about upgrading your box to one that does include HDMI.

Make sure there is no glare on your TV from a window or other strong light source. This can significantly degrade the quality of the image you are watching.

If your TV has digital noise reduction, try turning that feature on.

You can adjust your TV's sharpness and picture modes to see if that improves picture quality.

Try plugging the power cord into a different electrical outlet and/or surge protector. You may be receiving electrical interference through your power cord.

Trying moving any nearby electrical devices away from the TV. They may be creating interference that can degrade the picture quality.

Let me know if the above helps or not, so that I can direct you further on what do next.....

Best regards.

How to fix real bad glare on new toshiba led/lcd tv 46sv670u

I would not recommend to remove it, if you are removing what I think you are removing then this will void your warranty.

but if it is just plain plastic like on this picture

Then you are supposed to remove it.

if the so called "protector" is not like on the above picture, then you are not supposed to remove it.

Just bought the Samsung 550 Plasma Hd Tv can you tell me if we just use a regular cable from the wall to the Tv will the picture quality be sort of off.. WE have an HM MI cable from the cable box to the TV...

unfortunately cable does not give you the best quality picture and "fuzziness ' is the reduced resolution being displayed on the tv.
the easy way to check the picture quality is to get a decent hd antenna and scan using it for free hdtv signals, if these are also fuzzy, on all channels then the tv has a problem but if it is only on a few lower resolution channels then its just the way it is until everyone is hd 720 or better.

My vizio p4 edtv 46" made in 2003, went from working fine to a fuzzy blurry picture. You could change the channel and it would be fine for a second then back to fuzzy and blurry. I hooked my dvd player up...

This is not an easy fix. It's the main board (PCI) which is the board you plug your DVD player or cable line into. You could replace it yourself, but if your not a tech you might want to have a local repair shop do it. You could find the part online. This is an older TV so the part might cost you $300.

The part number should

I'm trying to take pictures of rare coins for sale on ebay. Help!!!

If your camera has the capability you will want to take pictures using the macro function on your camera. It has an icon that looks like a flower. It lets you take closeup pictures, which would be helpful for the coins. You will want to place the coins on a plain background with plenty of light shining on the coins from above and also another light from the side. Multiple lights will give your pictures some more depth to the coins. Make sure that the angle that you are taking your pictures doesnt have any glare. Hope that helps!
