Problem for GE 106851 6-Quart

I have a GE 168945 crock pot (walmart) and the lid

I have a GE 168945 crock pot (walmart) and the lid broke. I can not find a replacement lid. I've checked E-bay and searched the web exensively for a 13x10 lid to replace the broken one. GE doesn't sell replacement lids. It's bothersome to think that the way of business is disposable instead of repairable? I've been using aluminum foil for a cover.

Please stop using your crock pot and throw it away!! I had one just like this and the heating element melted the bottom of the plastic base and nearly caught on fire on 02Nov2009. The only reason our home is still not a pile of burnt rubble is because my husband was standing next to it when it began smoking.

Seems there is a recall on this product and you may be able to return it to Walmart. Check the web for verification.
