If you are not too far away-not "out of range" then try rehoming/pairing the handset with the base unit. You probably need the phones together to do this. Your manual will explain how-it will have been done in the original setup.

I had the same problem trying to deregister 2 TCX 905 handsets to work on my TRU9485 (4HS) base--out of range. I tried many solutions. Finally, I tried plugging in the base (no phone line connected) that came with the 2 new handsets. One I was able to deregister with the deregister menu on the handset. The other could only be deregistered with the option to "make the base unavailable" or something like that. I then registered them on my old base with the other handsets. So, unless you have the base the handsets were originally registered to, you might be out of luck!

Cannot stop Searching message flashing on screen

I emailed tech@doro-uk.com and within two or three hours got a helpful email suggesting the following:

In the first instance please try disconnecting the power to the base station and removing the batteries from the handset for 15 minutes or so. Then reconnect everything and check if this has resolved the fault. This will re-synchonise the handsets to the base station.

The problem is now resolved.

Thanks.

Handset No2 displays out of range message

Please check that you have correctly registered the second handset to the base. It may be necessary to de-register the second handset and then re-register it. "Out of range" just means the second handset is not within range of the base phone it was registered to.

Handset out of range - message

We totally unplugged the phone, made sure the battery was charged and reset the phone as though it was brand new, in other words started from scratch. It seemed to work and the phone is O.K. now

Out of Range foe 5.8GHz Digital Radio Shack Handset

Hello rrno,

First try simply swapping batteries with
units that are still behaving...
and/or moving handsets around...

My experience has been the trouble travels
with the BATTERY...

Try purchasing a couple of new batteries.

My second suggestion... EDIT OUT your
email address... Skillful Scammers can hustle
you pretty good with an ID and a single point
in interest...

In the future... be a little more paranoid...!!
SERIOUSLY.

Handset has message Out of Range even though it is fully charged on on the handset.

The handsets are reading out of range because they have lost connection with the base. This happens mostly during peak power demands or power outages, but can also happen when the phone is unplugged for any amount of time. This can also cause, at times, the answering machine to stop picking up calls. To remedy this issue, reset the phone system. Please follow the instructions below:
To reset the phone:
1. Disconnect the power adapter, phone line, and remove all batteries from the base and all handsets. Leave it disconnected for 30 seconds to reset the base.
2. Place the batteries in the handsets first and then plug in the power adapter and phone line. Do not place the batteries back in the base yet.
3. Put the handset in the charge cradle.
4. It may take up to 1 minute for the "Out of Range" to clear from the display.
5. Once the "Out of Range" is cleared from the handset place the back up batteries back into the base.

Out of range shows on main handset of cordless phone

Unplug the battery. Hold down The * (star) and the #(hash) keys simultaneously. Re-connect the battery, phone will beep and screen will be blank. Press the voicemail (righthand silver key under the lcd screen). As above EEPROM/RAM message will appear. Place handset on base and your problem is solved.
