Try going to the bios and reset the bios to load factory defaults and then reboot. If the same thing happens try taking the hard drive out and reboot, if the same thing happens again its not your hardrive because it would say no boot disk after post. Iam guesing it may be a bios fault because after the logo it goes blank not while loading the os(operating system).

Give this a try and post back your findings.

Gateway screen comes up; optical and (new) hard drive spin up, both drive lights light up during this time, fan spins up and air moves out of the side vent continously but still nothing but a blank screen....

If you have an operating system disc that came with your computer try putting it is and see if you can load the disc. If you can go to the repair screen after it loads all files. When you are at command prompt type: chkdsk /r

It will try to repair operating system. When done type "Exit" and restart. If you can't load the operating system disc you might be having a graphics card problem. Go to the manufacturer's website and check on their forums for your problem. Hope this helps

My system stop when i come repair it show blank screen and write KBC error what is that KBC error?. And it has no cd drive thank you

A KBC error is an indication of a compatability issue. An input device, could be mouse or keyboard is having trouble talking with the system. Check to see if your system has a BIOS update. If possible, disconnect/remove the keybaord and/or mouse and replace with an external usb device and see if your problem still persists. Good luck. -Carlos:

Blank scrren with just mouse

I've just had this problem with my Toshiba which is on here for other reasons. If it was like mine then it showed the loading bar with Microsoft Windows underneath then showed the black screen with the mouse cursor. If that is the case then it looks like you too have been hit with the Confiker virus (Classed a Hot Topic on Dells website) . If you still have the CD that came with it you're laughing (Well, better off! It means you'll have to reformat). If not you should be able to request a recovery disk from here (Subject to an unknown price) http://support.euro.dell.com/support/topics/topic.aspx/emea/shared/support/dellcare/en/contact_us_options?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs&~tab=2

Just an afterthought, as soon as you switch her on, keep pressing f8, it should bring up an alternative menu where you may be able to "Repair Windows"

Hope this helps

Mouse cursor dissapears

Might be a problem with the graphics driver, try updating the driver, or corrupt windows, the later is most unlikely.
