Coffee pot leakage

My coffee pot leaks thru the bottom all over, the counter, the very 1st time i used it from the store. then i exchanged it at the store for a new one thinking that that 1 was just a defected 1. "you know a dud" that happens sometimes. after i got the exchanged 1 i brought it home it started to leak within 1 month of use so, i tried to clean the coffe pot machine itself that seemed to work for a little while. then, when it started to happen againi made sure the coffee pot was level. that seemed to work better. but after the 3rd month it started to happen yet again so i am here to make a compliant! i found out i am not alone on this matter maybe i should change companies to get a new coffee pot? but, i really liked the fill one cup at a time feature! HELP !

Have you contacted Hamilton Beach to file a complaint? Or the BBB website? If there is a manufacturer defect with the unit and enough people complain they will need to remedy the problem or refund money. If you have been reading that there are other people with the same problem and it is not isolated then I would return the cofee pot and get a different model/brand. Check a site like www.epinions.com that allows people to rate products they are using. I use them all the time before I purchase a product.

I have had my coffee pot less than 6 months and it leaks coffee all over the counter. I called hamilton beach and they wanted me to spend $16.00 for a gasket plus shipping and handling of $8.00. I told her that the coffee maker was less than 6 months old she said if I could produce the receipt (which I could) that it would only cost me $8.00. That is rediculous as far as I am concerned. So I told her I will go buy another coffee maker from a different manufacturer. If they are not willing to stand behind their product I will not purchase any of their products. Obviously there is a problem with this coffee maker when there are so many complaints about this same problem and the company will not stand behind their product. I will buy a new coffee maker from a different manufacturer. Hope you all do the same.

go to any store, purchase new, same coffee maker, put your old one in the box and tape it shut, return it to store and get refund. Just make sure you purchase using cash. The store will send it back to the manufacturer and you got a new product. It's a shame we have to do this but if your tired of being crapped on, take justice into your own hands. I have the same problem and when I took it apart, I noticed that there were stress cracks in two screw holes which is where the coffee seeps out . Good luck.

I called Customer Service and told them the problem. I told them this was an older model. They asked for model #, Series # and are sending a new gasket out free. Seems like a simple solution to me. I'm very happy.

Usually there is a coffee ground stuck in the valve. Rinse it out and push the small button underneath and run water through it in the sink. This usually takes care of it.
If this happens when the pot is full. You might have to get another cup and push the button a few more times to clear the obstruction.
This is a bit annoying but I love the idea. My handle on the water holder just broke, and the plastic is so dark I can not read the coffee level anymore.

We had one just like it, about once a month it would leak out. I tried cleaning it and it did not help. To get it replace I went to their website, it said send the plug back to Hamilton Beach for the cost of shipping and they will send you a new one. Have had it for over a year and no problem.

I have a different brand but mine has a thermos inside of the coffee pot itself. The seal at the top kept leaking. Solution was to put some food-safe grease on the seal AND most importantly was putting some on the plastic parts of the screw on the bottom that puts pressure on the bottom of the thermos. The threads gaul and one cannot tighten the screw to put enough pressure on the bottom of the thermos to get a good seal at the top.

Not sure if yours is this type, but if it is this might be a solution to try.

I had a black and decker coffee pot do same thing and it was brand new. here is how I fixed it.
make sure the filter seated down good. If you look at the top of the coffee pot it should open up the little valve of the coffee filter holder. also mine had a little water spout above the coffee filter that swings over the filter. make sure it is over the filter. I know my coffee pot is different, but I think the problem is the opening from filter to coffee pot is not open some how so the water is flooding over the filter and going out the sides onto counter
hope this helps

Bunn coffee maker leaks all over the counter. What

there's probably a 'silicon rubber' hose that feeds hot water to the 'grounds basket'- it may be loose, or damaged. is it leaking water, or coffee?? we have a bunn 8-cup, which has a pre-heated water tank that brews a pot in about 3 min. energy waster, but when you need coffee, you need coffee!!! is your filter holder properly centered? is the carafe lid hole clean and un-obstructed?
if it's leaking water, and not too costly to replace- you may consider replacing it with a new one!
good luck!

My Brunn coffee maker is leaking from the bottom also.

I have the same problem and I took the coffee maker apart to find out why. The fitting for the hold in the black pastic that the water flows through to get into the stainless steel tank may not have a tight fitting with the plastic and that's where I had water leakage. I used some silicone sealant to fix the leak and the water stopped leaking!

Leaks while filling

Mine just leaked and it turned out to be one of the rubber tubes from the reservoir to the heating element under the pot came off. I removed the 4+2 screws of the base plate, reinstalled the tube & since there are no clamps holding on the tubing, I used thin stainless wire double wrapped and snugged to ensure the tubing stays on this time. Note, there is wiring in the area. Make sure you do not short out any of the electronics with the wire if you chose to use it.

Re: KitchenAid Coffee Pot

I had a similar problem with Err 1, Err2, and Err 4. To resolve Err 1, if you have room, remove the coffee filter and coffee, pour more "warm" not hot water into reservoir. If you have 4 cups cold water add 5 cups warm. Then start coffee maker and let it run thru. Then drain coffee pot and start over to make coffee with tepid water. Err 1 indicates the coffee maker temp sensor is too cold from room temp or water temp.
Err 2 is a result of cleaning. First question "Did you remove the charcoal filter?" The charcoal filter can be removed form the filter stick by prying two tabs away gently and removing the filter for removal. The filters can be purchased @ www.Kitchenaid.com
One pot run thru with descaler can loosen scale and make sensor go "blind". Just run a full pot of clean plain water thru one maybe two times. A pot solution should be a solution of 1/4 pot WHITE vinegar, 3/4 pot clean cool water. Run this thru once, then two clean pots of fresh water as if you brewed a pot of coffee. NEVER USE CLR WITHOUT RUNNING NO LESS THAN THREE CLEAN WATER POTS THRU MAKER!!!! This is so you can continue to enjoy drinking coffee, nothing like a cup cleaning you out!
Err 4 is simple, you have a stuck button. Unplug maker and gently press each button making sure they aren't stuck in.
