Question about Canon Pixma iP4500 InkJet Printer
Vertical streaks are either caused by ink inside the printer or by a defective or dirty print head. The deep cleaning procedure can clean the printhead, but won't clean dried ink that can still leave streaks..
To start, the printer must be taken apart to check if there is ink inside , and eventually clean it manually. Ink inside the printer is the most common cause for this problem. The ink carriage must be removed and soaked into isopropyl alcohol. If that does not fix the problem, then the print head must be replaced.

You DON'T soak these printheads in alcohol, all of Canon inks are water soluble...Also those streaks are most likely caused by a dirty encoder strip which can be cleaned with a water dampened Q-tip gently.
