The door latch mecanism works fine. The message is still there. The groove on the oven door where the latch fits seems to be bent out on one side like it was forced to open. Will make it flush by hammering work?

The unit is five years old, although it has never been used.

The F9 fault code is for the - Door Latch. Check door latch switch is secure and wiring for any damage or disconnection. If you have a voltmeter and continuity tester you can soon see if the latch and switch are working correctly.

Good luck!

    Hi again,

Forgot to add that if your oven is a newer type then the F9 code will mean that the Door Lock Safety Circuit On Power Relay Board Sensed and you will need to replace the power relay board. After doing this the oven will work.

F9 is a door latch error. You have to check the door latching system for functionality

LG double oven shows f9 code in both ovens

F9 is a problem with the oven door lock circuit. If the door is locked, it's probably a bad switch that tells the oven it's locked. If the door isn't locked, it's probably a problem with the lock mechanism.

A common problem on many built-in GE ovens (you don't say if yours is built-in or free standing...) is air circulation in the control panel. The fan that keeps the panel cool either stops working or gets clogged with dirt/dust and can't move any air. This causes the panel to overheat and can cause all kinds of odd problems and error codes. If you have a built-in, check to make sure the fan is working and the mesh screen behind it is clean.

Code f9 on frigidaire self cleaning oven. what does it mean. i went to clean the oven and the door locked and the code f9 came up and keeps beeping. i unplugged the stove for 1/2 hour and plugged it...

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. F9 error in your oven/range indicates an issue with the door locks assembly and/or the door latch. To start with check the door lock circuit, you can also try to jump start it to see if it's working. If it's not working then the Electronic Range control has gone bad and should be replaced, if it is working then the door lock circuit should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

i had same problem with this oven at first (just installed last week). resetting it cleared it for a while and I got one (test) cycle out of each oven, but now nothing starts and I only get F9 message. also the clock and door switches are all screwy. I called mabe canada and they will dispatch a tech to investigate this as a "DOA" sigh.

F9 Code after power outage - Model JGR8855ADS

Try unplugging the oven from the electrical power. May release the lock, which is held in place by a tiny micro switch. If not and while the electric is still off or the oven is unplugged, use a bright light flashlight to look through the slot where the lock is in the oven, not in the door.

You may be able to use a thin blade screwdriver to move the lock to the release position. Check the angle of the lever. A slightly bent lever handle also can cause this type of condition.

If all else fails, remove the access panel on the front of the oven to access the locking device and release it. May have to disconnect the wires to the lock which will allow door to function but not during any self cleaning modes.

Double 27" oven Model No.911.48489 show F9,later beeping

The F9 error message usually means that the oven temperature is above 600 degrees F. Check that the fan is operating. Make sure that it is not blocked. Make sure the vent areas are not blocked. There could also be a welded relay contact or high resistance in the oven sensor leads or connections.
