You have either a gummed up ignitor or a gummed up burner. Get a flashlight and take a close look at all of the components involved. Any part that is grimey will have to be carefully cleaned with a degreaser, then dryed thoroughly. If everything is clean, consider changing the ignitor.

Need to replaced bake broil switch, how do i get to it

Make sure you turn the power off, then remove the knob and there should be two screws that hold the switch in place, remove them. Then pull the stove out and remove the screws on the back panel and that should give you access to the switch

What to do when oven smells like burning plastic

new ovens do have a certian amount of "burn in" to do when there new best to heat up and cool off oven several times before actuall food use to remove any construction solvents and "cure" all the materials inside

also ck to make sure you removed all the shipping packing sometimes this gets left inside by accedent and smells something horrible when heated ( caution :: Foam degrades to cyanide deadly gas when heated!!!!)

Hi, I have a Maytag super capacity plus free standing stove. I think the past owners refitted it for propane. However, when I use the oven I can hear it turning off and on with the propane. Also, I smell...

My advice is to get a professional person to check this out. If you smell propane then there has to be a leak of gas. It could kill you if you don't get it repaired right way. Large flames mean you may have the wrong orifices in it.

How do I tighten the Timer Knob on my Whirlpool AVM 950 Microwave Cooker Hood Combo?

Look to see if a flat nut under the knob or a Allen nut/bolt that secures the knob is loose--some are drilled into the side of the knob.

My old GE oven (JSP38G052BG) won't bake or broil. It start then stop after 1 or 2 minutes. The heating elements get worm. Can you help me please

Hello ediben11.

If your oven's bake or the broiler heating elements won't heat but the range burners still work;the clock may be set for a timed or self-cleaning cycle. So,make sure to check the clock buttons and the knobs are set properly.
*If your clock has a knob that says "push for manual" then push the knob in after that, try the baking and broiling elements again.

*If it still does not work properly, you may have a defect in the thermostat/selector switch/common wiring.

*If the oven does not have a separate bake or broil selector switch; then the thermostat is probably the problem. It is not easy to check the selector switch or thermostat for proper operation. If you suspect a problem in this area, call a qualified appliance repair technician.

Hope this helps.

Power level

Hi cindeet,

I don't have this particular model, but have experience with other GE stoves & ovens. Looking at the control panel for an Advantium 120 at the link below,

http://www.geappliances.com/products/introductions/advantium/downloads/advantium_brochure.pdf

I'd start by pressing the "Power/Temp" button, and then turn the knob to select which power level.

There is also a Help menu shown (upper left corner of the photo I'm looking at - page 4 of the PDF document referenced above.

Let me know how this works for you - thanks in-advance.

How do i adjust the power level?

Hi Cindeet,

(I just responded, but it doesn't show-up - - my apologies if this comes thru twice).

Looking at the brochure at

http://www.geappliances.com/products/introductions/advantium/downloads/advantium_brochure.pdf

on page 4, there's a control panel with the "Power/Temp" button - try pressing this, then using the knob to select the power level you want.

There's also a "Help" function - - upper right-hand side of the control panel.

Let me know how this worked for you - thanks in-advance.
