To clean the sensor on the K100D . . .
1) Turn the camera on.
2) Press the "Menu" button.
3) Press the right arrow to the "Set-up" tab.
4) Press the down arrow to the "Sensor Cleaning" item on list.
5) Press the right arrow & follow the on-screen instructions.
And don't touch the sensor with anything. (You will damage the sensor).
And don't blow on the sensor. (You will get your spit on the sensor).
I used one of those old rubber blow bulbs that people used to clean their lenses with before the Lens Pen came along.
Take care & Happing Imaging!

SOURCE: Pentax K100D will not power up
First make sure you are using fresh lithium batteries. These cameras indicate low batteries quite early on. Rechargeables even when freshly charged are marginal.
If the problem persists remove the batteries. Set the camera switch to the off position. Set the focus switch to manual. Wait at least a minute. Then replace the batteries and switch on again.
Operating with low batteries can confuse the firmware and it may be stuck in a low-battery loop. If this is the case this should reset the camera by allowing the electronics to power-down completely.
If this does not work you wiil have to contact pentax support.

SOURCE: What Memory Cards will work?
Unfortunately, the Pentax K100D is not SDHC compatible, which means that the camera can be equipped with a maximum memory capacity of 2GB.
It is also advisable to choose a fast version of the Secure Digital memory card, such as Ultra II or Extreme III by SanDisk. I would recommend using a memory card of at least 512MB, or even 1GB if you can.
Hope this info helps
