Toshiba screen wont turn on (by 3 users)

I turn the laptop on it makes a little noise and then nothing, the screen is still black

i'm having the same problem with my toshiba satellite m-100. when i try to turn it on, the power LED lights up and the hard disk chugs, then nothing happens. no loading, no screen, nothing.
i have been advised that it's most likely a faulty motherboard. is this true?

My toshiba laptop's screen won't come on. The model is A135-S7403. The screen is just black, but the power button is on.

GuruNot enough information, what is model number of laptop, what is the noise? Are there any lights coming on? Does it work to charge the battery? Does moving the power connection make any difference? Post a little more information

thanks for the inappropriate rating. All I'm asking for is enough information to actually help out with the problem. Seems some people cannot be helped. Take a look at your question and equate it to going to a doctor. Human does not feel well, what is the problem? Do you think he might ask for a little information? You have the laptop I can't see it over the internet so it is up to you to post the appropriate information.
