I have an ACER Aspire 5600 and the mouse and keyboard do not work wiht the battery installed but work fine on charger alone. I bought a new battery (7000-7100 9300 9400 9410 )and the battery did not charge. Still the laptop works off the charger alone? Don't know what to do.

I disable the battery alarms from the Acer ePower Management and it worked, the problem is the same reported above, you will not see the status of the battery.

I downloaded the new version of Acer ePower Management from http://acer-epower-management.software.i... and installed more RAM.

I SOLVE THIS ISSUE 100% WORKING
THE MAIN PROBLEM IS ON THE CONTACT BETWEEN THE BATTERY WIRES AND LAPTOP
IF YOU MOVE THE BATTERY IT WILL WORK SO SURE THE PROBLEM WITH THE LINK BETWEEN THE BATTERY AND THE LAPTOP
SOLUTION : TO MOVE THE IRON OUT OF THE LAPTOP TO THE RIGHT TILT THEM TO RIGHT SIDE A LITTLE BECAUSE THE BATTERY WIRES IS TO THE RIGHT SIDE (WATCH THEM) NOT IN THE MIDDLE AND AFTER THAT PUT A STICK ON THE BATTERY TIGHTED IN ITS PLACE SO IT WILL NOT MOVE ITS NOT FREEZING NOW THANKS

I have same problem almost

i am using acer aspire 5600 xp/vista and LION battery.

my battery had memory effect once and could work for like 15-20 min.but its indicator worked fine at that time.

but now memory effect is gone and i am now facing a new problem.

At full charging, system shows that battery is not connected even it is connected.even if i unplug the AC supply still it thinks that notebook is running from AC supply.During this period i cant use my laptop keyboard and touchpad.I Can use only externally connected keyboard and mouse.

While notebook is using the laptop battery(Ac Unplugged) ,after sometime it detects the battery and the indicator shows 7% of battery time. Then my notebook keyboard and touchpad starts to work and then this percentage decreases to 0%. The time between shift of percentage is approx 10 min . Even On 0% the battery works fine and works for like 15 min. Overall Battery can work for like 1 hr 30 min approx(Low Performance).

My main problem is i cant use my laptop keyboard and touchpad while the battery is fully charged. i have to drain my battery in order to use keyboard and touchpad.

Any Ideas?

Are there any keyboard key to activate wireless on Acer Aspire 5600?

The wireless switch should be on the front, under the latch of the lid

If the keyboard has a wireless key, Acer usually uses the icon of a satellite.

I'm not sure I understand completely the problem you are having with your Aspire. However, it seems you are having problems with keyboard, touchpad etc.

One thing I realized a few months ago, mine started going crazy. I searched the web all over and found that REMOVING the battery completely solved the problems with the keyboard and touchpad problems.

I have to use mine without the battery in. Only plugged in.

Try removing the battery, leaving it out, plugging in the power supply and see if that does not fix the craziness of the touchpad and keyboard.

Good luck!

Might seem ovious but you may want to try Acer support and look for a new Driver.. Also check under Control Panel...Mouse options... and also check device profiles to make sure windows isn't loading a "docked profile which may disable touchpad and laptop keybaord use.

Just resolved same problem on Acer Aspire 5000 by removing the battery, then goto device manager and disable "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" you can then put your existing battery back into the latop with any problems with the keyboard and touchpad. Mad solution I know but it worked for me
