Question about Refrigerators
First you want to make sure it's not under any sealed system warranty call Whirlpool who now owns Maytag if your not sure, but you should be able to find the warranty info in the users manual.
Otherwise if it's out of warranty you can get it going with a 3in1 start relay from Supco,But you only want to do this if it is out of warranty. It comes with easy to install instructions and will get it going again they run about $20 you can also try the OEM relay/overload kit(you'll need your Model and Serial # to look them up)But more than likely you have a compressor that is going bad and the OEM parts won't start it they also run about $20.
The 3in1 part has a start capacitor that gives the compressor a boost to get started and will usually buy you another year or two in which to decide if you want to repair this one at 5-600 dollars or look for another one.
You can find them online or at a local parts warehouse.
