Would be helpful if you could add computer model information.

Making some assumptions...The main power button on PCs are programmable via the Windows operating system. On laptops, this button can be set by default to hibernate of sleep mode. Also, your power management settings may be setting your PC into one of these modes after so much time of inactivity. Tweak these settings to how you want your computer to behave. If you are not sure how to do these changes, your Windows OS help can help you locate and change the settings.

Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)

In some situations, you may need to reset your computer's SMC. Learn how to identify these conditions and reset the SMC.
The System Management Controller (SMC) is a chip on the logic board that controls all power functions. If the computer is experiencing any power issue, such as not starting up, not displaying video, sleep issues, or fan noise issues, resetting SMC may resolve it. To reset SMC:

1. If computer is on, turn it off by choosing Shut Down from the Apple menu.

2. Connect power adapter to computer and to a working power source.

3. On built-in keyboard, press (left-side) Shift-Control-Option along with power button just once. Important: Use Shift-Control-Option keys on left side of keyboard.Note: When the LED on the MagSafe connector is orange/amber, resetting the SMC will change it to green for a few seconds, indicating that SMC was correctly reset.

4. Wait 5 seconds and press power button to start computer. Note: If bottom case is removed, you can alternately reset SMC by disconnecting both power adapter and main battery, and holding down power button for 5 seconds.

Reset button on a powerbook g4

The Powerbook G4 power button functions like a reset button if you hold the power button in for a few seconds until the computer powers down.
  1. Hold the power button in for a few seconds (until you see the screen turn off/go black and hear the fans & hard drive stop spinning).
  2. Press the power button again to turn your computer on.
  3. If you have more trouble, you may need to boot in Safe Mode or "perform a Safe Boot":
Press and hold down the "Shift" key immediately after you hear the start-up tone. Release the "Shift" key when the gray Apple icon appears on the screen.

Won't let me sign out

You possible have some windows problem which need to restart. Sometimes windows are so invalid that only press on reset button can help. If you don't have reset button you need to press power up button for around 5-6 second. If you have problem with viruses, it can be source of problem too. You will need to go to 'Safe mode with networking' (press F8 after start of computer every 1 second). Download ESET (Nod32) hand antivirus scanner, and try to scan your computer in that safe mode.
Good luck!

The system fan is missing or not working . your system has been halted in order to avoid any damage .... i replace the fan then same problem comes for me i cant enter into the bios plz...

To enter into the bios, you just have to look at the black screen when you turn the computer on.
It should say Press F8 , F10 , F11, F12 to enter bios depending on the computer.
You have to press that button before the computer boot and window logo comes up.
So as soon you see the black screen press that button or start tapping that button.

Describe your cannot start ibook G3Problem it simply does not start, battery is ok and I have tried to take the battery away and back in its place, but nothing what can I do?

Make sure your iBook is plugged in to the wall. Hold down the power button for a few seconds. If that doesn't work, try holding down Command (the Apple key)-Option-P-R (hold all four keys down) and press the power button. Be sure to hold the power button for a few seconds whenever you turn it on.

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Power Management Unit (PMU). This is kind of a "last resort," according to Apple. Don't do this all the time.
  1. Reset the power manager by simultaneously pressing and then releasing Shift-Control-Option-Power on the keyboard. Do not press the fn (Function) key while using this combination of keystrokes.
  2. Wait 5 seconds.
  3. Press the Power button to restart the iBook computer.
If you have a very old iBook, you may have to unplug your iBook, remove the battery, and
  1. Press and release the reset button located above the Audio/Video port on the left side of the iBook (Dual USB) computer by inserting the end of a paper clip into the small hole and gently pressing the switch once.
  2. Wait 5 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the AC power adapter.
  4. Put the battery back in the computer.
  5. Press the Power button to restart the iBook computer.
(If it still doesn't start, do you hear the fans going?)

Good luck! Let us know if these steps solve your issue.

Want to know how to delete all the songs to start over again?

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.
