My dishwasher has a LE error, which I think is a motor overload. Is there a reset switch for the motor?

There is not a reset switch.
First, check to see if there is any obstruction preventing the motor shaft from turning. You will have to remove the lower spary arm and sump cover. The round white impeller should be able to be turned by hand. To remove that, the phillips head screw in the center of it has a left hand thread, so needs to be turned clockwise to remove. Then, you will be able to get further down, to the metal cutter bar which may have a twist tie dental floss wraped around it. If all is fine there, and motor shaft turns by hand, you probably have a bad motor. (permanent magnets in motor can come loose, chip, crack, or the internal Hall sensor can be bad. To replace it, the dishwasher has to be laid on it's side so you can easily change it from the bottom side now.

What is error code LE?

An LE error code means problems with the motor. It can either be load issues, excessive suds, thermal overload protection, or a new installation. To solve this motor problem, you must first uncover the underlying cause.

5 year old LG WD-1219BD has error code LE, ''overload in motor''

Hi,

LE is a very bad error unfortunately. It means that your motor communication is being lost. Generally on these LG washers it means that you need to replace the motor sensor. You will have to take the back panel off so that you can access the motor, remove the pulley and take the motor off, there is a little plastic sensor that clips onto the edge of the motor. The sensor is not sold separately from the motor so you will have to replace the motor unfortunately.

Part would cost you around $120 plus labor.

This is a common error on LG. Better to repair and use it or fix it yourself.

Hope i helped you,

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Dishwasher showwing LE error message

Hi Tanja

LE is motor error.

Empty water from inside the machine and try tripping the circuit breaker for a couple of minutes.

If that does no clear the error , then one of the following faults may have ocurred:

Wiring connection broken either bad connector on pump side or on timer control side, or faulty wiring harness.
The hose connected to impeller, or the impeller itself is blocked.
Motor or pump locked.
Faulty timer board.

Le error code on my LG washer.

On LG Washers the code LE is for motor overload protection.
Ensure that you are not overloading washer, make sure to clean pump by draining at little door at lower left corner(check manual for instructions), unplug for 30 minutes to reset, now try running cycle again. if it fails again something else is causing the motor to work to hard and will require a professional.

Error code LE and OE

The LG error code OE simply means “the pump is blocked”. Presumably the water isn’t being emptied properly. Check the exit hose, it may be clogged.
LE Code refers to a motor overload.Since the pump is blocked, the motor becomes inefficient in working.Once you get the pump cleared from blockages,I assure that you can get rid of these errors.Good luck with the machine. Please do post the results and comments.

LE trouble code

The LE error code can be an indication of several different issues. The most common cause is over-sudsing in the machine. Many times owners experiencing the LE error code are using regular detergent. It is recommended to use a high efficiency or low sudsing detergent. Overloading the wash with too much laundry may also cause the LE error code. Lastly, a breakdown in the signal between the microprocessor and the motor may cause the error code. This can occur if there is a loose wire, dislodged ball sensor, or if the shipping bolts are removed prior to situating the washer. Good luck!

LE error

In case you are sure that the washer is not full of suds or overloaded a breakdown in the signal between the microprocessor and the motor may cause the error code. This can occur if there is a loose wire, dislodged ball sensor. Try first to reset the control unit by unplugging washer power cable for few minutes. Good Luck !

Error code LE

Suggestion: Your wash could be overloaded; put in clothes within machine's capacity. What is written in your manual's max clothes capacity. If your heater is on; switch off machine and wall plug. Reset the machine with the heater on minimum & resume your normal cycle.
