Re: epson r265

Check status monitor if empty or low:
Replace if empty ect:

Soak the cartridge nozzles upright in Flush Solution for 6 hours dry and retry , make up a A4 Paper colour printing page with each colour band about 1" high x 8" wide and print out 4 - 6 pages checking which colour band is poor:

Keep printing if improvement noticed:
if not
Resoak the offending cartridges and repeat:
also can
Use cleaning cartridge on offending colour slot/s then retry:

Dont use the head cleaning utility to much as it is programmed to disable your printer after a pre-set number of cleans and will have to be serviced:

My Epson R265 is sending a message saying that it

If the lights are flashing alternately and slowly (with the power light off), then the waste ink absorbers are full.

The pads are near the bottom of the printer and can either be replaced (call the service department for the parts) or rinsed clean under running water. The hard part is usually extracting them (you need to disassemble the printer most of the time). Then (if reusing the pads, wait until they are dry) reinstall them and reset the waste ink counter. The reset requires a program such as the one available here: . Do not run this utility until the pads are replaced, the ink will smear everywhere. Epson used to have a link for their own reset tool but I do not see it for this printer.

However, the printer is designed that under normally usage, the waste ink absorber will be full at the expected end of life of the printer. Thus additional failures may be coming.

I hope this helps.

Both red lights are flashing and message says it needs a service. How do I reset?

If both red lights are flashing alternately your printer is locked. You need to replace the waste ink pads and then reset the printer using a ssc service utility for your printer model you can get one free on the internet unless your printer is a fairly new one

How do you reset the epson r265? I have 2 flashing red lights,

Two flashing lights means that you have a problem with your waste ink pads being full you normally get a warning first to say you need to have it serviced then your computer gets locked out
You need to replace your waste ink pads to do this you can either
take it to an epson service agent which will cost in the region of £50 or try doing it yourself when you have finished replecing your ink pads you need the printer resetting to do this you need a reset program you can find these free on the internet
If you need any help email me on or throughmsn on

Epson r265 what does 2 red lights flashing slowley mean

It means that the ink counter needs resetting and the waste inkpad changing/cleaned. The Epson website will give you the address of a local service centre. Before paying out for that you could see if the SSC Service Utility would work for you although the R265 is not specifically listed as supported it is similar to the R270 which is. The free download is available here
