Question about Fedders A6X05F2D Air Conditioner

1 Answer

My fedders aircon compressor does not turn on again whenever its thermostat turns it off. what i had to do is unplugged the power cord and turn it on again to work. i already replaced the capacitor. what i observed is that the big normally open rely does not switch on. maybe a board problem? if i turn it off and turn it on again, only the fan rotates and not the compressor. i had to unplug the power and put it back again for the compressor to run again.

You have a time delay build in on the pc board of 3 minutes. If it takes longer than 3 minutes check your compressor overload protector, Maybe the compressor is overheating, check your coils for proper air flow. ultimately if the compressor checks ok then it's your board relay. also try testing the temperature sensor ( thermostat)

What causes caravan aircon to trip circuit breaker on start up

My first guess would be that the compressor has seized. If not the compressor seizing, then I would look for a short to ground in the wiring. If you pull the cover of the AC you will most likely find that the compressor motor is plugged into a receptacle. If you can unplug or otherwise disconnect the compressor motor from its' power source and activate the thermostat to run and the circuit breaker does not trip, it is the compressor motor. If the circuit breaker trips, then it's in the wiring.

Why does My marvel 61WCM wine fridge turn on but right away off again?

First make sure it is not plugged into an extension cord. Low voltage could cause this type of problem. If you have it plugged directly in ,It is probably the compressor or overload relay on the compressor. You can bypass the thermostat to see if it is the problem, by first unplugging the device, then removing the wires from the thermostat, and jumping them together. Then plug it in If it still acts the same way the problem is in the compressor or overload relay mounted on the compressor. Sometimes the relay can be purchased and replaced or a hard start might work solve your problem.

Very possible your condenser is extreemly dirty and is turning off on a high pressure cutout. suggest you clean out condenser with compressed air. Brushing is not enough. also, check if condenser fan(at the compressor) is working.

AC condenser will not turn off after unit is turned off.

your contactor that supplies power to the compressor has its contacts welded together and even if you turn up the thermostat and the coil that holds the contacts closed will de-energize,but with the contacts welded together this is no longer possible, you need to replace the contactor

My Fedders through the window AED24E7F does not turn on. I've checked the outlet and it still has power. I've flipped the reset button on the cord but that doesnt do anything. I just cannot get the...

If you can take out the thermostat, check to see that you have power on both connections. If not it may be a bad t-stat. If you can jump the terminals on this with at least a 12 awg wire and it starts, then thats the problem. If you do have power thru the t-stat then it may be the relay on the compressor. It will usuallly look fried if it's bad. Pull it off carefully (with unit unplugged). With an ohmeter, touch one lead to one of the three post on the compressor and one lead to the housing. Do this for all three. If you get continuity on any, the compressor is toast.

Beverage air BB78-1compressor not turning on

Look in compressor section. You will find a power cord leading to compressor. Unplug that cord and plug it into an extension cord. If the compressor comes on you need a thermostat. I can hook you up with one. :) www.northeastcooling.com

Noisy Aircon

Your compressor ismounted or rubber feet. If one or more of these rubber spacers is gone or loose you need to come up with some more. If these are still n place its possible that the compressor (which is mounted inside the black oval or round case) may have a broken spring. In this case its compressor time Im assuming your fan is ok as you say its only when the cooling is on. Only 4 things move on the AC 1= inside fan 2= outside fan 3= fan motor and 4=compressor& compressor moptor which are in 1 case.
If you need to know more add on more information but I believe if youve gave me all you can thhin of its something to do with the compressor.
OH yes FYI if the outer case of the compressor is round you have a rotary compressor and they arenatorious for being loud and viberating even when new. If you decide its inside the compressor Id suggest replace the whole thing cause the compressor viberation causes tyhe copper lines to become hard and can crack eaisly.  Hope this helps. PLEASE Grade me ACCORDINGLY and good luck.
