Question about Kenmore Ovens

1 Answer

We have a Black Kenmore 30" Electric Self clean drop in range. I believe the model number to be 45599. the stove top works fine but the oven has completely stopped working. Is there a website that I could be referred to to trouble shoot this and walk me through the repair? What caused this, what part would i need to fix it if at all possible. Thank you

My oven when turned on goes to F1 and the heat is like broil...only the top burner comes on????

Hello,Please use the chart to determine which stove you have. You will have to look at the model number. The first 3 numbers will be the series on the chart. In most cases an F1 error would require replacement of the electronic control. This part is commonly refered to as an EOC or ERC. However this type of repair is usually reserved for repair specialists.

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes – 362 Series (General Electric)
F1 = Stuck Touch Pad Key - Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 911 Series (General Electric/Roper)
F0-F1-FF = Failed transistor in Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes- 665 Series (Whirlpool)
F1-E0 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E1 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E2 U/L ERC Errors - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E3 Fuel Type Fail

Kill power 30 seconds-Cancel-Start/Enter-5 seconds-Should see “E” for electric-
“9” for gas-If code changes again-replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 790 Series Electronic Oven Control (Frigidaire)
F1 = Shorted Touch Pad = Electronic Range Control (EOC) Internal check sum error.
Runaway Temp = Replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Kill power 30 seconds - if error returns - replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Thanks

How do I get self clean to work on older fridgidare stove

Move the safety lock/lever at the top of the oven door to the right and press the self clean button on the oven control panel, it is an automatic cycle so it will lock the door from opening and then will proceed with the auto clean cycle. Good luck !

The top panel will not come on, The stove top works but the panel that controls the oven and timer is not on, Thus the oven does not work!

Your control panel is probably out on this unit. Please call me with your model number and I can tell you how much the part will cost you. I hope this helps you!

Oven wont work

If the sensor were bad, the unit would throw a fault code. On the back of the range, near the top, there should be a tech sheet for you to use to troubleshoot the range. It sounds like a thermal sensor may have opened up. Consult that tech sheet, it should point you in the right direction.

Self cleaning oven directions

Press the self-clean button.  The panel becomes blank(---), then press the up arrow( ^ ).  The panel will appear 3:00 (indication for the duration of self-cleaning). The oven will lock on its own and start the self-cleaning.  Good luck, ya'll!
