Hi,

Follow the steps below to reset and reconfiure the router:

RESET:

At the back of the router you will find a small tiny hole (which has a small button inside it). Press the button with the help of a paper clip. Press it and hold it from 30 seconds and after 30 seconds without releasing the reset button take out the power cable from the router and wait for 20 seconds. After 20 seconds, without releasing the reset button plug the power cable back to the router and keep holding the reset button for another 30 seconds. Now, release the button and take out the power cable wait for 5 seconds then plug it back.

INSTALLATION:

1. Connect the cable/phone line coming from Internet Service Provider to the WAN port of the router(isolated port).
2. Connect the computer to the router using any one of the 4 available ports.
3. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
4. Access the router usually by typing 'http://192.168.0.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
5. Login to the router (username = admin password = password unless you have changed it).
6. Click 'setup wizard'(at the top of list) from left menu.
7. Select yes and click next.
8. It should give you a "PPPoA Detected" and then click next.
9. Enter the login and password of ISP click apply.
10. Once the settings are updated click on 'router Status' and click on 'connection status' button(at the bottom of the page).
11. Click on connect button.
12. Connecting to server should show 'connected'.
13. If you receive 'CHAP authentication failed', close the 'connection status' window and click on 'Basic settings'. Check the login and password for ISP and apply the setting again.
14. Open up another browser window and try to access internet

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

(print this out so that you understand the configuration.)
2. Uninstall the software for the old Belkin router.
3. Connect the new Belkin to the computer
4.power the computer off / leave off for (2) minutes then turn on.
5. Run new installation software on the new Belkin router.

New computer; can't find original installation disk

You should not need an installation disc.

Connect your PC to the router with a network cable and type 192.168.1.1 into the browser adddress bar. This will connect you to the router setup and maintenance screen, from where you can configure the router. If necessary you can reset it to factory settings and enter a new password.

You can then disconnect your cable and use it wirelessly.

Just bought a new PC with Windows 7 and the netgear wireless-g wgr614 router says it's incompatable

are you trying to run CD on new computer ?
You can do it manually without CD.
First let me know, are you trying to install the router OR you are trying to add a new computer to the existing network.
If you are trying to add a new computer to the existing network then you don't need to install the router on the computer, you just need to connect to the network.

I lost my cd to install how do i go by installing this router to my new laptop

you said that you are to connect the new laptop to the router.
Do you have any other computer already working through the router ?
If your other computers are working through the router then your router already set up and you don't need to run the CD. all you need to do is connect to the wireless network.
If this is the only one computer in your network and you are trying to install the router then you can do it manually also without CD.

I am new at this

There is nothing to Delete. Simply unplug the old and plug in the new. A WEP key is a way to ensure a small amount of encryption in the Wireless network. If the new Router has WPA - you should use that instead of WEP as the WIRELESS Encryption. There should be a "quick start guide" to help you install the new Router.

Installation of new D-Link router

You don't have to uninstall the software from your old router. However for security reasons I would recommend to reset your router to a factory defaults. That will erase configuration file. Then just disconnect your old router from the network and install your new router.
