Thanks for the infor. When you say the "main drain", do you mean the drain on the bottom of the pool? If so, how do you shut it off. Also, the Zodiac has slowed way down. It used to go around the pool pretty fast. The Zodiac is plugged into one of the side drains in the pool.

Your Zodiac should ballence all suction with the skimmer and no suction should go through the main drain. A main drain is better called a deep suction to collect heavy dird and your cleaner is a roveing suction and replaces the drain. If both are on the two suctions pulling against each other will always stop the cleaner.

Yes the main drain is the drain in the bottom. The suction on the cleaner can be adjusted in many ways from pool to pool. A positive way is to dive down and pull the grate and install a expanding rubber plug. They come in sizes to slip into the pipe (probally 1.5"or 2") and you just tighten a wing nut screw to make it expand against the walls of the pipe and provide a positive seal. If you live where it is cold this has to come out to winterize the pool. When you say the cleaner hooks into the side of the pool; If this is a port that is dedicated to just this line you probably have a valve at the equipment that shuts the drain off and one or two more to balance the cleaner and the skimmer. If it runs through the skimmer then there is probably a port in the skimmer that controls the main drain and it is hard to say where to find it without the brand. The two most popular have two holes in the very bottom. Usually (That is to say industry standered) the hole closest to the pool is the main drain and the rear or one away from the pool has all the suction. Be careful with the pump on you can break a finger from the suction, so don't get to close. A little dirt in the skimmer will tell the tale. The other hole will have threads that you can screw a plug into, again 1.5or2". If it is an old skimmer these threads can be worn out and an expansion plug will again be necessary. A mixing valve will control the skimmer and cleaner at that point.I'm sorry to say there so many different styles it would be hard to cover a small sampling of them. i hope this helps again and if you need further help see if you can describe the skimmer and where the pipes go into it and the valves at the front of the pump, just the ones that go into the basket not the ones that come out of the filter. good luck

Hose keeps going in circle

check the returns and make sure that they are properly set. Should be pointing 45º down. If the jets are pointing up the current tends to push the hose in such a way that it steers the cleaner in circles. I'm assuming you have backwashed or cleaned the filter and the suction is ok. suction cleaners do this when they get both too much or not enough suction.

Zodiak G4 Get stuck in corners steps ect.

Check a couple things when these pool cleaners are getting stuck on steps and in corners. Is the correct length of hose being used? It might be necessary to shorten. Make sure that the ideal flow is being achieved. Add hose weights 3 feet from the cleaner head. You might need to also install a wheel guard (part # W83278). This wheel delfector will also work if the cleaners are hanging on the ladder.

My barracuda gets stuck on pool's drain. This is annoying since I have to be around to watch it and pull it off. Valve to main drain is shut. What else should I do?

There is a ring that you can buy to go over anti-entrapment main drains that will prevent automatic pool cleaners from sticking on the drain. They are designed specifically for this purpose. If you are sure that the main drain in closed, this is going to be the best and cheapest solution.

Keeps getting stuck in corners

There are several things that you can try if your pool cleaners getting stuck at corners. First, make sure that the cleaner is getting the proper water flow and adjust it if necessary. Also, make sure that you inlets are adjusted so that they are pointed down and at the center of the pool. This will ensure that the cleaner is pointing in the right direction. Check your hose weights to make sure that they are correct. You will know they are right if the cleaner is sitting at a 45 degree angle with the pool's bottom when resting.

Zodiac G2 gets stuck at far end of pool in two corners. Each time I have to pull the hose to get it out, then its fine. Anything I can do to stopit getting stuck in the first place, please?

The biggest cause of this is current in the pool driving the cleaner to the corners. You propally just need to change the direction of the eye balls on you returns to the pool. Face them down the pool wall or just in another direction to break up the flow of water in the pool.

My zodiac baracuda gets caught up in the corners of my pool constantly. What should I do?

If these pool cleaners are getting stuck on corners or other obstacles, try these solutions. Try using Pool Pulse to lower the flow. If you are getting too much flow, the cleaner will stay along the edges of the pool and in corners. You might also need to adjust hose weights. You can adjust your return flow lines in the pool. If they are directed toward the corners, try moving them down and center to direct the cleaner in the correct positions in the pool.

Zodiac has suction but doesn't move

With these pool cleaners, that is often a problem with the flapper. Check the flapper to be sure that no debris is stuck. Debris can halt water flow and movement, making your cleaner get stuck.

Stuck barracuda

It is probably not a problem with the shoes. These pool cleaners (and automatic pool cleaners in general) often get stuck on the main drain since the implementation on the new anti-entrapment drains. There is a ring that you can buy that goes on the drain. It is designed specifically for preventing pool cleaners from getting caught on the main drain.
