If I'm not mistaken, the 600 has a automatic or manual control built in to the same humidistat. The only thing required is the outside air sensor (oas) be mounted outside and wired into the humidistat. Don't forget to remove the "manual" jumper from the humidistat.

Changed the pad on my Aprilaire 224 humidifier and it won't start. I have not had it on since last winter. How do I check to see if it is the water not entering the system or something electrical? When i turn it up to high on the controls upstairs, it makes a sound like it is starting, but when I go downstairs it is not working. I should mention that this was installed in 1988 and doesn't look like the sleek one in your picture but is the same model number. thanks

I have an Aprilaire 600 Humidifier that had a manual humidistat. I swapped out the humidistat with the newer Aprilaire #58 auto humidistat and now the humidifier won't turn on. I have power on the new humidistat, the outdoor sensor is working, but when i turn the dial to test/reset, the humidifier doesn't turn on like it's supposed to. Does anyone have an ideas? Could it be a faulty humidistat?

Hi- I have an Aprilaire 550 model that is attached to my furnace downstairs, which I just replaced the Water Panel on. The dial for the humidity setting is upstairs. I took the cover off on the downstairs unit, after turning the humidity setting as high as it could go. How can I tell if the unit is functioning? Does the furnace need to be on to determine that? Would I be able to see water trickling through the water pane? Thank you for your response!
