Question about ATI RADEON X1650 Xt, (256 MB) Graphic Card

1 Answer

I keep getting the BSOD on my machine, it seems to be when I am running photo view packages. The card is running 2 screens, I get the message Mini092009-01.dmp when it goes. Is it likely to be a graphics card problem? I've put ina new HD, re-installed Vista and done a memory check, all OK - help!

HP Stop code CRITICAL PROCESS DIED how do I sort this out

NO COMPUTER STATED of the 1000 made in 36 years.
or 1984 to now HP.
no OS stated, of 14 by Microsoft, or linux, or freedos or OS/2
wow only the word DIED is clear.
no screen photo's presented.
The process is complex, after all its computer not a toaster.
3billtion transistors at least there.
that's billion with a B.
my guess, (par for here)
is OLD HP PC< like 20 years old>
running what, XP? the virus magnet and loves to BSOD>?

my guess is windows, BSODs with a blue screen of *****
as even GILL BATES did on stage long ago?

top reasons are
1: bad power, if laptop take out the big battery.
2: bad RAM. try them 1 by 1. to find which one is bad. if have 2 easy
3: XP is corrupted, as all are, or will soon be, read the news lately?
XP is now Dead for 3 years, and is a virus magnet.
VISTA was shut down this spring.
4: bad video card or its driver bad is super common way to get BSOD.
5: loading PC chip drivers not for you old PC, = BSOD.

BSOD the blue screen if *****, that millions get ?

My Compaq Presario X1000 restarts itself when using WIFI

old compaq. LAPTOP,, 14 years old now, Im amazed it even glows at all with CCFL lamps not dead, wow.. its like a musiem piece.
(sorry , grin) (back ground lamps CCFL)
NO OS stated by you , XP, ????? why must helpers beg?

and wifi , (difficult that)
it's not wifi, its just that you use wifi most the time ,SEE? right?
in fact we could remove the wifi module. and prove that.
disabling wifi is airplane mode, (todays jargon) but means the wifi transmitter is now OFF (airplane safe is THAT)

the blue screens tell a lot, and no posted photo of one by you.
sad,
BSODs we call those blue screens of *****
XP love to do that. (even with Bill Gates on stage) LOL
BSOD are hard. Im sure it says 2 words, HALT and DUMP !
here is a list of causes.... for sure 14year old relics (legacy junk)

  1. the main battery inside is bad or shorted, remove it run AC , does it, wow, it does, problem solved in minutes flat.
  2. the Inverter is shorted (CCFL card) and bom, BSOD
  3. bad RAM, BSOD XP fast , try 1 stick at a time.
  4. Bad HDD< can corrupte files and XP BSODS in a blink !
  5. any thing shorted, remove all usb devices yet?
  6. remove extra ram. , unplug CD drive?

all techs know rule 1,
is it hardware or software, (this is alway first after #1 above done)
to do that we open the CD tray, insert our free LIVE LINUX CD
and boot to linux
wow it runs for hours ok, proving what, HARDWARE IS BAD
if Linux fails its bad hardware (running period correct disk)
if linux runs i next do a full HDD test, using the great linux program there to do that.

or take that handy dandy, Compac (now HP) 3 disk install disks
set and load disk one, does that run? ok
even full restore. or does it show HDD errors.? oops HDD is bad.

the BSODs are really what.
it means the PC attempted to run and ******* instruction.
in simple terms, it means a program is corrupted.
or tried to do ******* things with memory.
that is why test test the PC with a boot CD to see if the PC is ok.
see?

mr wifi real.
sure this can short, but if it is removed and it still BSODs
its not this card, its other cards, shorted. or not at all. cards.
we call this mini-PCI slot card.

Downloading photos message says format this memory card. Will that erase the photos on the card?

Hi,

Yes, If you are getting the message then it will erase everything you have stored/saved on the memory card.

There are few possible reasons for this message.
1. Your memory card is full and does not has enough space to store new photos.
2. Your memory card is not fully detected or recognized hence it is asking you to format the card before downloading

There is simple solution to diagnose and find out the problem for both the reasons.

Click Start
Click on My Computer ( or Computer )
You should be able to find the Memory card drive and you should be able to open it
If you are not able to open and view the contents then your PC has not completely recognised the card.
If you are able to view the contents, your memory card is full and does not has space for more photos to store.

Hope this is helpful

When i view my photos on my camera they come up with 'read error'

Sounds like the card is failing - try recovering the images with a free software package - Google will find you lots - then Format or discard the card. Format in the camera - NEVER format using a computer

Blue screen and the charger works sometimes

blue screen aka bsod. when you get this bsod it will show you stop error code. you need to get the code to identify the exact issue you're having. If the bsod occures after the dell logo issue might be the video card or memory. if the bsod occures after windows logo then if might be caused by a corrupted windows updates or windows system file corruption. if the bsod occured after dell logo then check your memory if you have 2 ram modules try to remove 1 ram first then try booting your system using only 1 ram, try to swap and isolate reseat and teach eash slot on each ram module. if bsod occures after windows logo then try to run a test for your hard drive Fn+Power. If no errors it might be windows file corruption which needs to be restored or re-installing OS.

Attempted to upgrade Vista to SP1 on an E-machine, during install, Norton reinstalled, upon rebooting - BSOD so I don't know if SP1 issue or Norton, or both. Using VISTA disk, the bar progresses and then...

Try booting into safe mode.
If you can, I suggest getting rid of Norton. The drivers are not compatable with vista.
Vista has a ton of issues and many types of softwhere will not run or work.
If you want a good virus software, use the new software from Microsoft.

File errors, distorted photos.. I hate the Samsung L100!!

regarding the use, you have to check if you are using the right memory card for your camera.

you can only use 2GB sd card or 4gb sdhc card.

try this and if you still have an error message. you better send the camera for service.

Hopefull plea before i go mad

Sounds like a driver problem to me. I recommend removing all video drivers from the computer, restart the computer, then install the newest catalyst drivers. The error saying that the exe has encountered a problem and needs to close may not be fixed by this. I would recommend re downloading them or getting a new copy from some where else.
