This machine does have a separate charger board that plugs onto the motherboard, held by two screws. The charger board accepts the power cable and also has two USB sockets. (top right on the laptop when looking from above)
The board is available, Part number 48.4W006.021, cheapest on ebay. It does require disassembly down to removal of the motherboard
What exactly is the problem you are trying to solve.

From what I can discern, there is a separate power button board, but no separate charger board (It seems to be part of the motherboard.

Borrow someones 'Dell' brand A/C adapter charger.
If that works then yours is bad. If it doesn't then it could be the battery, but more likely the main board.

i have inspiron 1525 as well ... if the computer wont boot up, then the mainboard may have experienced a power surge of excess current. did you have t-storm or power out while your computer was plugged in with Ac adapter ?

if not , to answer your question, the capacitors you inquire about are so small, it would require special solder machine to replace these CAPACITORs, as they are very tiny in size and require absolute temperature (heat) from solder gun to pally appropriate solder to replace the capacitor(s).

i think your mainboard is gone.

if i can be of further assistance, please let me know-- i can help

Dell 1525 won't run on ac but will on generic battery

Dell systems will not charge the battery without a Dell Branded AC adapter connected to the system (The BIOS looks for the adapter ID and disables the battery charger if not ID'd)
It appears, that since the system will not power on with either AC adapter, that there is a problem with the power connection of the system. You can replace the power board
if that fails to resolve next is the motherboard

Dell 1525 not charging. dc usb board replacement

Sorry to hear that you are still having trouble. The only other thing to try is your battery on your buddies notebook. If it works there then it is the charging mechanism on your notebook and this would mean replacing the motherboard.

My laptop is not chage dell 1525 when power is on laptop is working ok when power is rimove laptop is totaly off

I think the battery is bad. how long have you been using it now?

Look for someone that has the same laptop, remove the battery and test it with yours to be sure if it is the battery that is bad or not.

Please give me feedback if it is not the battery.

I wish you the best.

What model motherboard do i need for a dell inspiron 1525 model no.PP29L?

The Inspiron 1525 has 2 motherboards. Part # N122G and J046C. You'll have to get the board that was sent with the original base configuration. Just call technical support at 1-800-624-9896 and check which part # is needed for your system and then order one accordingly from sales.

Thanks and rate if useful.

Dell inspiron 1525 will not charge the battery

1525 owners (possibly other models) DO NOT replace the mobo before reading this! Just read step 3 and 3a.

The Dell 1525, 600 series, and probably all other models using PA10 or PA12 power supplies have a power jack that uses the center pin to detect the presence of a genuine Dell power adapter. There have been considerable writings on the problems with this 3rd pin on the internet.
The symptom is that you can run the laptop when plugged in but the battery won't charge and you get a warning message that you are not using the proper power supply or it can not be identified.
The best place to see power supply status in the BIOS under battery status.
You MUST use a genuine Dell adapter, period. None of the non OEM supplies have the center pin enabled (proprietary chip).
1. The power adapter sensing line can be damaged by static electricity but I find this to be rare.
2. The center pin in the power supply is loose or the wires are breaking (test by wiggling the power cord at the strain relief while holding the plug steady in the laptop - replace the power supply for $<20 on eBay.
3. The center pin connector on the laptop jack is loose - symptom is that it works sometimes and not others. Requires a full breakdown and replacement of the jack. Can be done yourself if you are very handy AND WILLING to FOLLOW DIRECTIONS which are excellent on the Dell web site. Does require soldering on most laptops.
3a. At least on the 1525 there is a sub board for the power and USB which you can get for $80 on eBay and just plugs in - still requires pretty much total breakdown. The board itself is usually the problem so replacing the connector won't help - it is in the multilayer trace from the power jack to the mobo connector. There is a bypass wiring method that requires super close tolerance soldering - I will post that if asked.
4. On some older models (P4 1 core) you can go into the BIOS and turn off Intel speed step to get the laptop running - it will run slower but you probably won't even notice the diff.
This whole mess is the result of Dell trying to protect the mobo and battery (life and fire prevention) but packing too much wiring into a too small package. They should have used a larger, 3 prong type power jack knowing how much strain is put on the power cord.
