Washer Power Requirements

I'm trying to figure out wht size of standby generator I need for my house. Part of that "equation" is understanding the starting and running AC power needs of the appliances in my home. Can you help with the power ratings for my HE3T washer? Thanks Kevin

Re: Washer Power Requirements

Hello kgodsave,

You are not really going to run everything in the house while using your washing machine, isn't it? If your machine runs on 1 horse power (HP) motor (which is unlikely), thats already 746 watts. say you are running some little wattage appliances say total of 1,000 watts. Double that figure and you get 2kw. A 2kva to 3kva generator would be plenty clearance for unexpected load.

Equator ez2512 combo washer dryer won't go to spin cycle and drain, it fills with water agitates then dial starts clicking around, it stops and fills some more but never spins or drains. What is the f

Check the outlet filter isn't blocked. The machine will only go in to spin if the water level is low enough. So you are left with the outlet pump not working or if you can hear the pump trying to work then you have a blockage. If all this is ok then I might have to suggest that the mechanical controller is goosed (The dial which you say is clicking around). I have taken a few of these to bits in the past. They are not really designed to be repaired (Surprise surprise) but you can repair them if you take your time. They are mainly just a small electric motor which by a series of gears moves a contact plate around to perform the required functions. Good Luck

Can I install this in my house?

Hello buckeye,

In a word...Yes.

There actually aren`t anything different about most rv appliances, with the exception of gas/absorbtion fridges. As far as the "Splendid" brand washer/dryer combo, they are just an "equator/bendix" with a different badge and a little more compact...harder for me to work on is all, no elbow room, hah ha !

The water inlet lines, power cord, and drain are all the same. ( unless someone has changed them ).

Hope this answer`s your question. If you are satisfied with this solution please rate it accordingly. Thank you for visiting "fixya" and good luck.

I need a diagram of an Equator EZ3612CEE door

While you may have removed the door with the hinges from the cabinet the nuts may have fallen down on the unit.
You may want to open the back panel or the bottom panel and try searching for the same, in case you need assistance mounting the bracket back on the cabinet once you have the nuts do let me know.

Leaks near filter

It may be the drain pump that is leaking, you can open the back panel of the unit and figure out if it is so by checking the drain pump for leakage just when the pump starts to work.

Broken heater during the dryer cycle

i am sending you all the possibilities for your problem, check either of these causes ----and than let me know if it is solved----

Power from the house
Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating element
Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse
On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.
