Can not print with Epson LX-300

LX - 300 does not have an USB output, it has only parallel out put. It is also not PnP. My new system has no parallel port. I have a USB to parellel cable (bf 1284).
Both are installed but printer does not print.

The USB to parallel converter does not always work.

You should buy a Parallel port for your computer if you have can extra slot inside the machine. The cost for the parallel port is usually under $20.

thanks adi

Epson lx-300 parallel to usb printing problem

Make sure driver for Parallel to USB adapter is installed properly, this doesn't guarantee that it will work. Suggestion is, check for interface availability for Epson printer if you can change parallel interface at the back of it to USB interface. Call Epson for details and availability.

Im using a windows 98 SE OS and using Epson LX-300+ii and when i try to print either from MS-DOS or Windows the output is still garbage. need help

I'd check the printer emulation. One of the choices in the printer's internal menus is which kind of printer commands it uses. In this case, the choice is between Epson's own "ESC/P" commands or the IBM 2380's.
Find the instructions under "Using the Control Panel" in the manual, which you can download here.
Another possibility is a bad cable. A USB cable will probably either work fine or not at all, but a parallel or serial cable could have one broken wire inside and cause the printer to put out garbage.

I have epson lx 300+ printer and bought a new cpu without any parallel port... now my printer does not print documents even a successful printer driver installation

You can install a parallel port adapter on you computer.
This WEB site has parallel port adapters that suit your computer.
http://www.ieci.com.au/products/product_list.asp?class=3&basecat1=50

Since you did not provide details of your computer I cannot advise you exactly what adapter you need, but you can select or ask the supplier the correct one for your computer.
