as above ..all else is working screen brightness set to max. The unit has not been dropped. Is this problem economically repairable?

make sure the conection
on the top of the lcd is firmly clipped in
that is the part that controls the backlight and digi
give it a good clean sometims gets dirt in or even worse battery acid ..yikkes
