It probably has a Lithium Ion battery. This is typical behavior of these kinds of batteries. if left uncharged for a prolonged time they will refuse to charge again. I'm afraid you will have to get a new battery pack if at all possible, or get a new MP3 player. These days you can get a good MP3 player for a very few bucks, I would advise you to just go ahead a get a new one (unless you can get a replacement battery for very very little). and This time, make sure you leave your unit charged when not in use, and from time to time give it a little charge. Lithium Ion batteries have a constand (though very small) drain in power when turned off. don't worry every month or so, just give it a charge. don;t worry if the battery is still full or nearly full, as Lithium Ion batteries have no "memory effect". This way you will ensure they will always be at peak performance.
