Open Question

Just charged battery and replaced and LCD screen

Camera used frequently, wanted to charge battery because going away. It wasn't low. Left to charge over night. On inserting battery, LCD screen now blank. Can get menu by pressing 'Disp', which says battery fully charged. Can take photo as normal and see image through 'disp', Have pressed default, taken memory card out & put back in, battery out & put back in, switched on and off etc. but still blank screen. Read instruction book which says that you press 'disp'. What has happened?
Any suggestions?

SOURCE: white LCD on my canon

Hi: I think you have broken (accidentaly with the fall) the cable with several wires that connect the LC display. My real advice is that you take your camera to a store were they can give you direct support desmanteling the camera and replacing the cable or fixing it. However, Zair already had a problem like yours and the best solutions was given by BowerR64. You can consult on the following page: http://www.fixya.com/problems-solutions/t103443,p294056/Canon-PowerShot-G2-Digital-Camera.aspx (just copy and paste on the address bar) ;) Regards

SOURCE: Zoom, DISP & SET controls not working

I too have the exact same problem, and an online search turns up others with similar Casio Exilim models, with the same problem. It involves a malfunctioning Disp, Zoom, and non-functioning Set button, with all other functions working OK. Casio Support seems to recognize the problem, and indicates it has to be fixed at one of their authorized repair centers. Start with their online system: https://www.ecasiorepair.com/

try this it works for lens problems like you describe ]]]

OK you are probably going to think I am loony giving you this advise But No I am completely sane!

Get a can of compressed air OR acces to a compressor at your local garage Get them to fit the triggered air blower tool to it.

Blow around the lens in all the extension joins the firmly slap it in the palm of you hand with the side of the camera making contact with you palm. Do the procedure two or 3 times and inbetween the slaps turn it on to activate the lens mechanism. I have now fixed about 80 of these cameras with this method. I obtained the fix from Sony who charge $90 to do exactly the same. Keep at it as it will eventually work. One tip, make sure the battery is charged before you do this.

let me know if this worked for you Cheers

If in doubt, charge the battery. You're not going to hurt it by charging it too frequently.

The camera does not have a battery level indicator as such. That is, it doesn't display anything if the battery level is good. If the level drops, a battery symbol will appear on the upper-right corner of the screen. If the level drops too far, it will say "Battery exhausted" and not allow you to take any pictures.

You can download an English-language copy of the manual from the manufacturer's web site at http://support.nikontech.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13948

Is their a way to tell how much charge is left in the powerShot SD750 Digital elph battery by using the menu on the camera

Hey scelzinc,
This camera does not have a way to show the current charge level on your battery, but an Icon of a low battery symbol should appear on the LCD screen when your battery is at a low level and needs to be recharged. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

LCD IS NOT WORKING WHEN CHARGEABLE BATTERIES IS PUT IN THE BP300 GRIP

ni-cad or ni-mh rechargeable batteries all have charging cycle life and will fall in effeciency. in saying that, batteries used for some time will be not be as powerful as the new ones, and over or under charged batteries also wouldn't give you expected power.

i guess the CR123A you replaced is a new one, so it has the desirable voltage and current.

LCD itself and the driver actually do not require a lot of power, but the camera does, which draws away from the battery.

Red light flashes and LCD turns off and on

A quick test would be to purchase a set of Duracell Ultra Digital batteries and try them. They won?t last for very long; however, if they make the red light go away then you problem is either the batteries you are using or the charger. More often than not its going to be the batteries so we?ll start there: Check your batteries, you should be using Nickel metal hydride (Ni-ME) that are rated at 1450 (I use 2500) mAh or better. If the batteries are more than one year and you?ve used them a lot then its likely the batteries just aren?t holding a charge anymore. Purchase a new set or borrow a working set from a friend. Charge them in your charger and try in your camera, if the red LED goes away use the batteries till they need charging again. Charge them in your charger and if the red LED stays off then the batteries were the problem. If the red LED returns then try charging your batteries in someone else?s working NiME charger. Put them in your camera and if the red LED goes away then your charger is the fault.

Camera not powering on

Hello... 1)camera is not turning on . Is the battery inserted correctly? Check the direction of the battery. Is the battery sufficiently charged? Use a battery that has been sufficiently charged. 2)camera switches off after powered on * Is the battery charge insufficient to operate the camera? Use a battery that has been sufficiently charged. * If you leave the camera on, the battery will be exhausted. Turn the camera off frequently by using power save mode or economy mode etc.
