Question about Admiral AW22 Top Load Washer
Everything seems to work fine but the problem. The washer does its thing. Fills, agitates and spins - goes through the cycle normally. However, when it spins to drain, whether it is after the wash or after the rinse (final spin), it does not pump the water out.
I unplugged the drain from the tub to the pump. The water comes out free flow. I unplugged the out drain from the pump with the hose hooked up to the tub. Without running the machine, water flows freely.
I turned the machine on its side. the belt is turning the wheel on the tub, motor and water drain pump.
The motor does click and move into a new position when the it comes to the spin time.
So that would lead me to believe it is the water drain pump.
Here is the thing. I replaced the water drain pump 3 1/2 months ago. Could it have gone bad in this period of time? My wife said that when this occurred, she heard a grinding sound and did go to the basement to shut is off.
Everything seems in order but it will not drain/pump the water out.
Expecting guests for the holidays----Help!!!!!!!
You,ve done a good job the first time the pump fail MikieM. You can do it again. We sometimes forget to empty our pocket. Some small metal things could have gotten into the pump...could be other hard foreign object. Good luck.
