You have bad grounds on the vertical IC and bad cap at 35volts 100mf. Resolder the IC and replace the cap. Also there are two other caps you should look for...50volts 1mf, they need replaced too!

I think you also have a 25volt 47mf cap to replce. These are easy to find with a cap checker.

Horizontal IC is gone a replacment logic board will work, but trying to buy that for www.partstore.com might e out of budget you might want to look around ebay for parts or simply give up on the tv. You can try to have a new IC put in but it would cost you around $95 bucks and upwards.

You can get a nice LCD for under $300 bucks from walmart..

No Picture

This is a problem with the vertical circuit. If you can solder, you should be able to fix this. With teh unit unplugged, open up the back and locate the vetical IC. This should be a small flat IC attached to a heatsink with about 9-11 pins. It may be marked LA7837 or something similar. Try resoldering hte pins. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the IC. I will look up your specific model and try to get more details.

Set starts, horizontal and vertical deflection work, HT ok, crt heaters ok, but no sound or picture
I turned the G2 voltage up and noticed a white screen with flyback lines, frame ok. I detected two badly soldered double diode rectifiers in the secondary part of the power supply ! I checked all other joints, and everything was ok !! success
White horizontal line (no vertical deflection)
Check / replace R548, R549
Sound but no picture except for a couple of horizontal colour lines
Replaced the frame chip TDA8356, set now ok

Horizontal 'pinstripe' lines on all channels

sound like the screen control on the flyback is set just a little too high. the flyback has the red wire attached to the tube. the flyback has 2 small adjustable controls. if you look close enough 1 is marked focus & on is screen. turn the screen slightly to the left & look at your picture. the screen is like a master brightness & if it's up too high you will see what is called retrace lines. good luck.

Picture goes to one thin horizontal line in middle of screen

There is a bad solder connection in the vertical sweep circuit. if you know how toi solder, go and find the vertical output IC and resolder that first.. but if you have no solid state electronic repair experience, please find a trained tech to assist you in this repair, as if you wait it may end up costing you double of what it would now, so haveit done ASAP. Good Luck Please do not forget to rate this one.
