Question about Samsung RS2630SH Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

The divider is overhot

The divider between the side-by-side is so hot that you can burn yourself on it. Frost-free nothing - it's dangerous!

It sounds like your timer is faulty, or their is a serious short in your wiring.

I can tell you this..its most likely the condensor fan motor has stopped turning. it could have something stuck between the blades so remove back cover and find your fan motor..It will have a 5" fan blade on it. this is where you'll look for something between the blades. If nothing there. Be careful and spin the fan blade to see if it will start..If it does..It will most likely fail and you'll need a new motor. If you have a portable window fan or something like it...Have the fan blowing towards the compressor and leave it behind the refrigerator to keep air blowing and this will make your refrigerator freeze and cool...until you get a motor

Freezer started defrosting and the sides where burning hot. I emptied it and unplugged it. The next day i plugged it in again and it froze a water bottle rather quickly but the sides where still burning...

Your defrost timer has stuck to on position, replace timer and all good or locate timer and spray lubricant into the dial and turn it several times with unit off, then try it after several hours, quick fix only but may last several years...good luck...Russ

Whirlpool frig divider door getting hot

that is normal,, unless it will burn you,,there is a little heater in there that is to keep frost from forming and the doors sticking,,to the cabinet,, if it is getting so hot it will burn you, you will need to call a service tech out,, that is a real hard repair to do yourself

some heat is normal on the outsides and center divider. how to muche will usually mean the the condesor fan may have stopped working and is unable to cool the condensor coils and compressor.this could cause it to run longer and build up frost

The center strip that divides the fridge and the freezer is hot to the touch -- so hot it will burn my hand. How can I fix, and is there any fire danger?

Sounds like there is a problem in the sealed system. Remove the rear lower cover and tell me if the condenser fan is turning. While there, is the Compressor hot to the touch?
Pull the unit away from the wall and then remove the rear bottom cover. Is the condenser fan running? If it's real dirty there, unplug the unit and clean real well. In the freezer section...look on the rear wall and tell me if you see any frost building up.
Thanks Good Luck

The freezer on the inside bottom gets glowing red, hot, adn water drips on it and it sizzles. Is this dangerous? Is it fixable?

this is the defrost cycle and is nothing ot worry about. the unit has a heater that comes on about every 8-12 hours to melt accumulated frost from the evap coils. this heater is alot like the coils on yous stove. it should stop heating within 30 mins and resume cooling shortly afte that. thx peyton

Frig is hot only in upper front (divider) where two doors meet.

need to see if your fan is running in the freezer side if not replace it if it is then check to see if you have frost on the back lower wall inside the freezer if you have frost then you have a defrost problem
