Question about Apple iPhone 3G

Tried restoring iphone on my itunes account and it said "restore failed" my iphone is totally disabled and I am unsure how to fix this problem

When your restore fails, it usually tells you, Your iphone could not be restored, an unknown error occured(number). Get that number and either post it on here or call 800 my iphone with it.

Hello Jabob. If your iPhone 6 is disabled, the only way to unlock it is to completely erase and reset it. If you have a backup, you'll be able to restore it, otherwise you'll lose all of your data. There is no way to unlock a disabled iPhone unless you use the correct passcode or you erase it. And the following guidance will show you how to unlock a disabled iPhone with iTunes.

Step 1. Connect your iPhone to the computer with via a USB cable that your iPhone has trusted.
Step 2. Launch iTunes. If you've synced your iPhone with iTunes, then no "enter password" is required.
Step 3. iTunes will automatically sync your iPhone and create a backup file. If it doesn't, you should sync your iTunes and create a backup file manually by clicking "Back up Now" in the Summary window.

Hold the power button and home button until the phone restart when it restarts hold the home button only for 10 seconds and plug in your sync cable it should connect to iTunes

At this point, your iPhone shuts down completely and you cannot make any more attempts to enter the passcode. My iphone says disabled connect to itunes but itunes doesnt read.


Have you tried using a different USB port? Sometimes certain USB ports on a computer stop reading the device. Try using a different computer. See if that one reads it.
If all else fails, you may need to DFU-Restore the iPhone.
In order to do that:
1. Turn off the phone. 2. Hold down the power (the top right) and the home buttons. 4. Once the apple logo comes on, stop holding the power, but keep holding the home button. 5. Open up iTunes. It should say the phone is in restore mode. 6. Do your restore.

Disable your internet security while trying to connect. Enable it after you have finished doing whatever you needed to do with itunes. You may also be able to include itunes and the itunes store in the websites acceptable to your internet security software.

Update to the latest version of iTunes

If iPhone or iPod touch were connected to USB ports on the front of the computer, try connecting them to rear USB ports. After doing this, try to restore the device in iTunes.
If this fails, Restore on a different computer. If the issue is not resolved with the above steps, try to restore on a different computer. Ensure that the computer you are restoring on has USB 2.0 ports, the latest version of iTunes, and that you are connecting directly to the computer.
Advanced Steps
Make sure you have admin access

If your still having problems estore using a new user account Create a new user account on your computer and try to restore while logged in as the new user. iTunes will download a new version of the software restore file. After creating the new user, log in to that account and open iTunes and attempt to restore to see whether the issue persists in this new user.

Windows Vista and Windows XP
From the Start menu, choose Control Panel. Open User Accounts. Select Create a new account and follow the instructions to complete the account setup process. Once the new account is created, choose Log Off from the Start menu. Log in to the newly created user account.
When a restore issue is specific to a user, it is likely due to an unusable .ipsw file. The ".ipsw" files are what iTunes uses to restore your iPod or iPhone. If those files are unusable, then try deleting them so iTunes can download a new copy of them. Creating a new user will also cause new .ipsw restore files to be downloaded in the new user. You can find the ".ipsw" files in these locations:
Windows XP iPod touch: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates (If you don't see the Application Data folder, you may need to show hidden files by opening (My Computer) Click on Folder Options. in that window click on the view tab, and make sure that show hidden files is selected.
Windows Vista iPod touch: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates (If you don't see the AppData folder, you may need to show hidden files)
1. Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options. 2. Click the View tab. 3. Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files and folders, and then click OK.

After removing and reinstalling the latest version of iTunes, try restoring iPhone or iPod touch again in the origonal user account.




As an added note, If running Microsoft Windows XP and the issue is resolved on another computer, but you continue to experience difficulties on your original computer, you may want to update or reinstall your Windows USB drivers and then try restoring iPhone or iPod touch again.

you can restore you iphone in itunes, when you plug phone in, itunes come up right?when it shows your phone in itunes click in the summary field, scroll down and under update, just click restore
